There are some nice prices with Virgin Atlantic for early next year. Last week of March, for example, with Miles plus Money is £542. I'm very tempted!0

have you priced up flights on their own and car hire from someone like netflights where all insurance is included, rather than flydrive where the insurances usually add up to more than a seperate car hire0 -

Where are you flying from? I'm seeing LHR - LAX and LAS - LHR for £643 around those dates. Or £562 from Manchester?0 -
VALUE FOR MONEYMust admit, I didn't know that they'd let people pet the cubs though. I find that a bit unpleasant tbh - just comparing them to my brother's new kitten who's a lunatic when it's just them at home but is terrified of strangers at the moment!
The first time I saw the sign for cub photos I was upset by it, thought it was cruel...then then next time having a photo with a lion cub got the better of me, I have to admit...but it was a really impressive operation and clearly the animals were very well loved and looked after.
They didn't actually let you pet them as such...if they were to old/big to hold for the photos the cub was on a table (until the second the photo was snapped the keeper was holding or playing with him - the only reason the cub was looking sort of at the camera is the second the keeper would signal for the photo he was pulling away from the cub toward the camera so the cub was actually watching him) you could put your hand on the particular place on the cub's back they told you to for the photo - they were very specific, no petting, don't even think about touching his head, etc put your hand this one place and one place only...
and when they were little enough to hold, the keeper cuddled the cub or played with it a bit until it settled and sort of slid the cub into your arms - snap photo - keeper took cub away straight away...but the wait in the queue could take ages as they didn't just rush people through to make as much cash as possible (which to my mind, a less honourable operator would surely have done) - we waited for nearly an hour once when there were only 2 or 3 people left in front of us while the keeper was feeding and cuddling and playing with the cub or cubs (both times we were there there were 2 and one was in a play area while the other was having photos made) until he felt he was settled and happy enough for a visitor. We also saw queues disperse when the keepers decided that that was enough for the cubs for the day and no more photos would be taken even during the posted hours.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
Looking to see O by cirque in January (23rd) anyone know when or where to buy tickets for the best deal? Thanks guys and hope you all had a good Xmas!
I went a couple of years ago with my wife and we had two seats in the very front row in section 101, far left of the stage in the orchestra stalls part. I think if I remember correctly, there were 4 seats in the row and we had the two that were closest to the stairs, not next to the wall. As the front of the stage is curved, at the very beginning of the show when the curtain is down we couldn't see what was happening on the far right of the stage as the curtain curve was in the way, but otherwise throughout the show when the curtain was up, which it was for the vast majority, then we had no issues. As these were restricted view seats then they were $93.50 instead of $155 for the seats the other side of the aisle. Would definately book the same seats to see it again if I can persuade Mrs G to return to Las Vegas.:)0 -

15% off the 10pm performances here but not for 23rd Jan for some reason..looks like the Wednesday performances aren't included in this deal.

O is one of the less often discounted Cirque shows.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

We are going in March.
Intended to fly with VA at their sale price of £591 from Manchester which we saw Christmas Eve, but by the time we checked our dates are OK with work on Thursday, Virgin had increased their price to £645.
Looks like we are going with BA from Heathrow at £596 now instead.
Shame, I prefer Virgin but the extra £50 each swung it.0 -

I wouldn't pay extra to fly with VA, but I would pay slightly more to fly direct vs indirect to LAS or the West Coast. We fly indirect to Florida a couple of times a year and that's fine with the second leg being a short flight. I am less keen on an 8/9 hour flight to then have another 4 hours or longer on the next plane. So, I'd pay a little more for direct which limits me to BA or VA (I think). But I am very price driven so I wouldn't up the price massively.0
