Historically are the 'January sales' much cheaper? I've been looking for last few weeks at flights and hotels, there's 4 of us wanting to go from London may/June for a week, all mid 20's going to Las Vegas for the first time. Cheapest I can find is over £900 which is above budget (600-800 each). Anyone have any recommendations or wait until Xmas is done and fingers crossed in sales?0 -
VALUE FOR MONEYI think platinum would be first choice but again quite expensive at 180 dollars a night for my dates like the look of wedding on the roof though
But what would you pay for a similar room - size, standard, amenities, etc...most places in the world?
Our room at Cosmo last trip was the most expensive we have ever stayed in in Vegas but compared to what we would pay for that sort of a room in the UK, many parts of Europe, etc...it was a 'bargain'.
But I can see how if you're used to quite inexpensive hotel costs it may be a bit of sticker shock...it still is value for money relatively speaking...but perhaps not what it was.
I think that your particular needs will make it harder to find accomodation on the cheap though - if it was just 2 adults then it may open up a lot more options?Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
Flying out of LGW on 29th May with US Airways is coming to £631. Hope that helps:T0

VALUE FOR MONEYthings I really hate...getting home and not long after realising there was something you would have loved to have done had you known about it.
Da Vinci - The Genius at Venetian...today's Groupon is the culprit...I may not have known otherwise...and it's done before we go again.
Both of us would have loved to have gone to this...both...that's unusal...so sad...but just in case anyone else is going soon who might not know/might not notice it while there.

It's only been a couple of days, will wait another couple before I start to worry.
Not sure if you are aware, if you have been looking up flights etc, then you log into quidco using the same browser without clearing cookies your purchase may not track.
I'm not good with cookies, so I have a separate browser that I only use for quidco. So, if I book a holiday, I'll sit and search using google chrome (my normal browser), then when I am ready to book (or buy something using quidco), I open Mozilla Firefox and use that to log into quidco and use the link to open the site I want to book through. That way I don't have to worry about cookies.
My purchases track pretty reliably, however I have had an insurance one declined in the past, but I believe it's because I already had a quote with them and they can see that from my details.0 -
I'm doing Hooters for 3 nights at Memorial Weekend (May), then onto the Excalibur for 6 nights....
Hooters aint ideal, but when its the cheapest hotel in Vegas (and i mean cheapest in Vegas, not just cheapest off the strip!), it saves a few quid for us to put things in line with our budget....
I guess the 24hr pool is appealing though !!
Its gonna work out to cost £28 each for Thurs to Sun night in May, + resort fee, so not all bad....
Google view of Excalibur shows the swimming pools look pretty good there, so thats a big deciding factor for us...
At the mo, prices have fluctuated, but hopefully just after Xmas when a sale pops up, that will be our time to strike....
Budget is for £700 each
And that gets us:
LHR to Los Angeles (direct)
Mustang for 1 day
1 night in Big Bear Lake
3 Nights in Hooters
6 Nights in Excalibur
SUV for 1 day.
Cheapest i got it was for £686.... Daft as it sounds, am hoping weird things happen, and iin late Dec, early Jan, the total drops to around £640, then i book!0 -

I did exactly the same! Did all my browsing in Firefox, but then used Internet Explorer to do the actual booking. Normally that works fine, but not this time
I have raised a cashback claim, they say they will look into it after 30 days. Not too hopeful, will be a real bummer if it doesn't go through, was worth over £100!0 -
Hi,
Can anyone help? Stopping at the Luxor in a couple of weeks and were wondering if they have kettles in the room? Both of us need that first morning brew to get us goingCan email the hotel, but just thought I'd ask on here first, as a friend went a few yrs ago and they didn't.
Thanks0 -
Vegas hotels don't provide kettles. Some may have a coffee maker, but even that's unusual. Bring a travel kettle which is dual voltage.0
