Netflights (and others) do not charge for one-way drop offs bewteen California and NevadaPlease Note - There is no fee for one way rentals within the states of Florida and California, or for one way rentals between the states of California, Arizona and Nevada.0 -
VALUE FOR MONEYRestaurant.com are doing 2 x $100 vouchers for $40 - is this a 'must buy now' or do they do these offers fairly often? (I'm not going til June)
I'm not sure that's as good of a deal as it sounds.
If you can buy, for example, 8 x $25 restaurant certificates with 2 x $100 gift cards.
If a $25 certificate is normally $10...that would be $80 for 8 of them...since there are regularly 50% codes out there, that takes it down to the same price as the 2 x $100 gift card deal...with a few exceptions, you can normally find better discount codes which would make it a better deal not to commit to the 2 x $100 gift card.
We normally go for 8-9 nights and use maybe 3 r.com vouchers tops...so 8 of them would take several trips for us to use up...though others may use more during their trips...we try not to box ourselves into a corner in terms of dining and vouchers.
Though there are a few higher value vouchers out there - that have a higher minimum spend...so that would reduce the number of vouchers needed to consume $200 worth but still seems a lot.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
VALUE FOR MONEYI was just wondering what peoples opinions are of The Hotel at Mandalay Bay if they have stayed there, thanks.

Thanks photome, location is the only thing putting me off as have previously stayed at Bellagio and cosmopolitan so very central, have stayed at the wynn to and that was a bit of a trek, but the rooms do look lovely.0

Hello friends, we've just booked our flights from beautiful Scotland, north of the United Kingdom, to California and really looking fwd to it. We plan to visit Las Vegas on 24 December for a few days and now need some advice please...
Son is only 19 so can't get into casinos. Not planning to go there during the day but is there anywhere he might like to hang out for a couple of hrs in the evening while we place a few bets?
Also, I'll do my homework on hotels on the strip (and whilst not remotely religious) we will be in LV on Christmas Day, can anyone recommend a "blow your mind" hotel view that would be great for the Big Day?
Ta very much

VALUE FOR MONEYSomeone may correct me here, but I'm thinking a 19 year old could get away with stopping in the casino, but shouldn't be gambling or drinking. I know when I was 19 I played slots in Atlantic City, but ID checks might be on the increase these days.
Some of the hotels will have things of interest, depending of course on what his interests are. MGM has a few things, including an area where you can go and watch previews of new tv shows, and there's a cinema out on the front at Showcase Mall. There's also a gaming place - 'Gameworks' I think it is called if he likes that sort of thing.
He could also walk around some of the malls, like Forum Shops at Caesars, Miracle Mile at Planet Hollywood.
Just a though, not sure if your son would want to have a beer or whatever, but have you considered a room with a balcony and view so that he will be able to have a drink out on the balcony with a view (assuming it's warm enough). Someone might advise it is too cold - I've only been in summer so not sure. Do you have plans for California yet? We stopped in Long Beach for a night on our way back in September and I really liked it.0 -

No one way fees between CA, NV and AZ I believe. We did two one ways this year - flew to LA and had car for a week, then no car for 4 days, then car for last 4 to drive back from Vegas to LA. No one way fees. We booked through netflights and collected at Dollar LAX and dropped off/collected at TI in Vegas. Make sure you have CDW (Collision Damage Waiver) - unfortunately we were in a bump and were glad we had that. No quibble car replacement. The Platinum Fully Inclusive deal with Netflights is good as it also includes a tank of fuel.0 -

Weve been in Vegas twice over Xmas, and Xmas day is just like any other day of the year. You wouldnt know there was anything special about 25 Dec.
Nice trees and decorations, but thats about all.
PS We planned to do Grand Canyon on Xmas day, but high winds postponed it to Boxing Day.illegitimi non carborundum0
