We won't be staying in Vegas over the weekend. It's a Tuesday and Wednesday night. Just looking to pay about £50/night as it's part of an 18 day trip. Luxor and HP are both coming in about £30/night which is an excellent price. All we want is somewhere clean to stay. Friends stayed at Circus Circus a few years back and said it was fine. We'll have a hired car but hope to park up and leave it for the couple of nights we're there. Thanks for all advice so far.If I had known then what I know now . . .

BUFFETSTrumps allegedly nice, but I dont think *anyone* here has ever stayed there. Also a bit of a walk to mid strip, but prob no further than Encore. No casino there so you wont be able to pop down for a flutter when you feel like it.
A colleague of mine stayed there in March. It was her first trip to Vegas and she was very impressed. Obviously as a newbie though she didn't have anything to compare it against. Apparently they have a free shuttle that runs to and from the Strip all day but they walked it a few times too."Don't sacrifice what you want most for what you want now"

SHOWSIt it's just two nights stay centre Strip-distances between hotels are further than they look !
Planet Ho, Flamingo, Paris or Ceasars would all foot the bill nicely (Just don't go for a basic room at CP -all the other levels are fine just not the basic)
At your budget level I'd plump for a Go room at the Flamingo and use the $20 trick to get a fountain view room.....or if you fancy a gamble a Palace Tower room at CP and tip $20 and ask for Augustus Tower.
Oh and trust me CircusCircus is NOT fine -poor location and rather tatty -you can get much better for your money !
If all you really want is centre strip and a clean motel standard room (basic shower and not very comfy bed) look at the Imperial PalaceI Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

can you get a palace tower room at CP for £50 a night?
I agree though stay centre strip, and do away with car
Disagree that Circus Circus is not fine, the tower rooms there are clean and great value for money, not long been refurbed, wrong location though0 -
VALUE FOR MONEYBill's could be an option for you. It's right in the centre of the strip, easy in and out unlike some of the other large hotels. Room to strip on less than 5 minutes. The rooms are nice, but the bathrooms are a bit on the small side for USA, so I've been told.

Should get decent rates too.0 -

I never think about Bills as a place to stay visit but it does make sense for a flying 2 night visit0 -

Did the grand canyon in the morning - brilliant. Booked through Viator which is same as sundance. Limo picked us up at hotel at 9am then went to the Luxor to pick up the other 4 people due to join us but they were no shows. Waited there for 10 mins then the limo driver said that was it and took us to the airport. That meant we ended up with a private helicopter for just the two of us. It was amazing! I booked the quickest tour possible and it certainly was that. 45 min flight there with pilot giving us all sorts of info, then flew right up through the canyon with the Indiana Jones theme blasting through our earphones :-). Landed, escorted straight onto a van for the 5 min drive to the skywalk. The driver then accompanies you on the tour so straight past the queues and through the back entrance onto the skywalk, photographer took lots off photos. Spent 10mins on the skywalk then back through, chose our 2 free photos which were put into lovely leather souvenir cases. 10 mins to walk around and take our own photos at the edge, back into the van, back onto the helicopter and 35 mins back to the airport. Limo back to the hotel and we were in the wicked spoon eating lunch by 1pm. This type of whistlestop tour might not suit everyone but it was perfect for us. The drivers and our pilot were all lovely, good fun and full of info. The pilot we had has only been back in Vegas 2 weeks as he spends his summer months fighting forest fires - he was full of fab stories!
After lunch we crossed over to tix4tonight and got 2 cirque du soliel tickets for Love at the mirage for $201 inc taxes and also bought 25% off the total bill at The Range steakhouse at Harrahs for $6. Booked the Range for 9pm as the show would finish at 8:30. Picked the tickets up from the box ofice at 5:30 then went to the Rhumbar in Mirage and had some cocktails sitting outside - gorgeous - before going into the show at 6:45. Love was fab. Vibrant and lots of oooohhh moments. Even hubby enjoyed it and he was really only tolerating it for my benefit! After the show crossed straight over to Harrahs and into the Range. Server lovely, food gorgeous and the Scottish salmon I had may have been the nicest I've ever tasted. Hubby had the 16oz steak which was also lovely. Neither of us could manage desert so the bill for 2 mains, 2 cocktails and 2 beers came in at $85 with our discount off.
Walked back and caught the fountains at the Bellagio which was done to a jazz combo and was fab. Been watching them from the balcony since we arrived but beautiful to see from the front with the music score etc.
I'm still struggling to keep my eyes open past 11pm (poor hubby!) so back to the room and I went to bed at 11:30 while hubby stayed up til midnight so he could FaceTime our daughter (8am uk) and show her the strip all lit up.
I managed to sleep to 6:30 this morning so hoping to stay up later tonight. Haven't decided what to do today yet. It's either the outlet shops (but might be busy cos it's Saturday?), a day at the pool (prob my choice), or explore south to new York, new York etc. Got rod Stewart tonight at the colosseum and I will be up giving it laldy there - LOVE Rod!0
