Here is me and a couple of my poker buddies, as you can see we all like to convey a different image at the table. Guy on the left is an insanely good player, his winnings for 2012 are over $100k already :OThe common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0 -

I love this picture - this is a good 'we're in Vegas, that's right, we are' shot. And you all look like very nice boys. And I think maybe I'm old enough to be your mother.
I am in the not dressing up camp...I know the topic comes up on occasion and in some circles (not here) it can get a bit touchy...I remember arguments at Open Vegas about how people not dressing up ruined the experience of some things for other people...how having someone not suited and booted at the next table was a downer for them and reduced the potential for them to enjoy their meal. I don't get that. Then again, we don't go for much fine dining and on the rare occasion we do we at least manage not to wear jeans (though usually when we arrive there are other people in jeans and we're annoyed that we didn't just wear jeans).Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
ive always taken a sharp suit to vegas and wear it at least twice, especially if seeing a show or out for nice meal and cocktails afterwards, though then dress super casual the rest of the time but i think it is nice to dress up now and again0

Been looking online for room in Vegas for 16th & 17th October. Couple came up on LastMinute.com They are "secret" hotels but they're a giveaway which ones. What's the opinions on the Luxor and the Planet Hollywood. The more I look at hotels, the more confused I'm becoming. Thanks. If I had known then what I know now . . .

VALUE FOR MONEYwell that's a nice gesture, I contacted Vdara after our stay the other week, as there were a couple of niggly problems - that didn't ruin our stay by any means, but weren't as they should be... anyway I've just had an email from the management apologising for the problems and they'll offer us a complimentary upgrade to a City Corner Suite on our next stay.
looks like we'll have to go back then0 -
HOTELSAnyone know if there are any free cash machines on the strip, I hear that withdrawing your money can be on the expensive side in Vegas.
Any recent Vdara visitors, did you get a daily credit to spend in the hotel. Looks like Travelocity bookings get 30 dollars a day but I bet that's US bookings only!
Thanks all0 -

We took cash out of our hotel ATM in Hilton Garden Inn Henderson which charged $3. We also used the ATM inside Orleans. Not saying anybody else should but it was very convenient and we couldn't be bothered trying to find cheaper.
We had a $50 daily food, drinks credit at Vdara, which we mostly spent at The Pub in Monte Carlo and The Box in Aria.
We booked Vdara using a smartervegas discount code.0 -

I've never had any advertised credits withdrawn on Travelocity -They don't care -I pay in dollars -they give me the offer. Not sure why you think otherwise ???I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
