    VALUE FOR MONEY
Caesars is included if you pay a $15 supplement to the normal BOB price.

I don't think we can manage the late dinner/breakfast/lunch/early-dinner thing as we normally only manage 2 meals a day and sometimes one of those meals will be something relatively quick.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

At home I eat 3 meals, but at Vegas buffets I tend to eat more than a normal meal, so I agree that it's a bit too much - unless you are quite disciplined in the amount you eat lol.

When we go to all inclusive places elsewhere though I do eat the 3 meals but probably don't eat as much as I would at a Vegas buffet - for example I wouldn't dessert with lunch, but in Vegas wouldn't be able to not at least try something :D

We usually do breakfast at Paris, lunchtime a quick bite at Flamingo and the dinner at Spice Market PH. However when we go in October we are going to try the new one at Ceasers as it seems to be a hit on here.We have had buffet at Harrahs before and it was good but the one at Rio completely overwhelmed me,I just found it was too much( if there is such a thing in Vegas!)

I do like Paris for breakfast- the food is good and I love the theming- the Flamingo I agree is good for lunch for a bit of flamingo and koi watching, Rio was a big hit with sushi loving son -he ate loads .

I usually have a buffet for a lateish breakfast and end up so stuffed I don't want to eat again til about 8pm. I think the all day deal might be wasted on me :) I like the idea of grazing from buffet to buffet but suspect the lines issue might be a pain.

Last question i should think, are the lazy rivers/pool areas in MGM & Mandalay Bay even gonna be open between 17th-21st October?

If all you really want is centre strip and a clean motel standard room (basic shower and not very comfy bed) look at the Imperial Palace
I like your suggestions but perhaps worth a word of caution on Imperial Palace. The place is a complete mess around there (no noticeable front entrance or parking / valet etc) , also girls standing under scaffolding out front wearing hard hats handing out leaflets. Its not really an area that shouts out Vegas at the moment I'm afraid :)

For the extra dollars, I'd go for planet Hollywood any day. As much flack as it seems to get thru here, you get a view and the area is generally a lot more nicer in my opinion

We've did the BOB a couple of years ago - late dinner, breakfast, lunch, early dinner. Sounds gross, but you don't need to stuff yourself silly.

I don't eat a lot, just soup and a small plate of entrees at dinner. At lunch time I just had soup and a bit of salad. Hubby likes his grub so it suited him. However it was worth it for drinks alone.

For a 2 night stay I agree with most of the suggestions so far and would avoid Luxor.

The rooms at PH are small by Vegas standards and have next to no storage, but that wouldn't matter for 2 nights.

I would suggest Bally's which you can get for $40/night and sometimes less. Good location and big rooms.

The absolute worst buffet we have ever done was the 2 for 1 @ Excalibur.OH thought that sounded a good deal- the line to get in was endless- sure sign he said of a good buffet!OMG I know I am a fussy eater but all I had was some cookies and a cup of coffee. It was awful but OH kept saying how nice everything was yet he was as quick to get out as me,he just didn't want to admit it was rubbish and his idea!

Have you checked the respective websites.

I think from memory that both MGM and Mandaly bay have one pool open all year but that maybe wrong, my guess is that by that time in Oct some of their pools will be closed and the lazy river may well be closed

Not sure how you can find out for definite, although I would call them and ask,but bear in mind that they prob dont have a definite closure date as it will depend on the weather
