VALUE FOR MONEYThe Walmart we go to is on Charleston. You could go by bus but it's a bit of a trek. We once tried to get a taxi back and really struggled with that too. We usually have a car. You can take the Deuce up the strip to Charleston, the cross over the strip to the bus stop which would take you west. You will want to know the number for any shop you plan to go to on the bus so you can look out for numbers and then know where to get off. Walmart is on the left hand side as you head west.
I'm sure there are others, try their website and see if you can find one closer maybe. There's a Michael's beside the Charleston one but that's about it. You could combine it with a trip to the outlets close to downtown, it's not that far.0 -

VALUE FOR MONEYAll in all a great trip, despite the couple of mishaps. Would fly to LA again, I really really liked Long Beach and would love to go back there.
Thanks so much for the TR, Lesley - was great to read your posts while you were there so appreciate that you took the time to do both. we also like the Station buffets we've been to and such good value with a 2-for-1...the recent TRs are really helping us get excited about our upcpoming trip!Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
for anyone interested in Gordon Ramsay at Paris - just called to make reservations for our trip - earliest on Friday 19th October is 9:45...earliest on Sunday 21st October (which was our alternate and we thought would be easy being a Sunday) was 9:30.
So may be worth thinking about reservations quite some time in advance!
I just read the other day that he is opening at third restaurant at PH and the one at CP isn't even open yet. It also mentioned that the restaurant at Paris is booked up to 3 months ahead.
I'm glad we took the opportunity to go when we did, the night after it opened. We are intending going back in May and it would be a Sunday night so will have to remember to book it the same time I am booking Casa di Amore.0 -

I very much doubt it as the show is always a sell out.
We saw him about 5 years ago and booked online in advance. We fancied seeing him again a couple of years later, but as we weren't fussed we didn't booked in advance. We went to the box office, but the show was sold out for the 2 weeks we were there.0 -
VALUE FOR MONEY=Anyway i have another question,Ive been looking at walmart website i was wondering which is the best nearest to the strip? and are any in a shopping complex with other shops? i would possible be going by bus(im not bothered about this,as not 100% sure if getting car yet im there for only 4 days and its going to cost £67 for car)so any idea of bus numbers would be great.
thanks for help.
I think we decided previosuly that the one on Charleston may be the easiest from the strip by bus...if you go to googlemaps and put your starting address and ending address in and choose the public transport option (looks like a bus/train) it will give you the options. You can also zoom into street view to see images of the bus stops, etc - so you can see what you'll be looking for...From mid-strip (Bally's I chose as an example) it looks like about an hour's journey each way.
We always have a car though and for us is money well spent even if some days we never get it out - just gives so much more freedom and saves a lot of time going further afield...for a short trip it may be worth considering so you can make side-trips relatively easily and quickly...googlemaps says it's 14 mins by car, for example...so that's 90 minutes saved in travel time for this trip alone (and not hauling your purchases back on th bus)...for a short trip that's a lot of time lost IMHO and not the only thing you could do a bit easier if you had a car.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

Hubby read the same article and that's why we called tonight as last we had read it wasn't that booked that far in advance...so glad we did...not that keen on that late of a dinner but knowing now, well in advance, we can plan for it at least!Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
