Do what me and by travelling partner do, toss your knickers out down there. Seriously. I'm doing a marathon down there later this year and I fully intend to take my oldest gear and toss it before I bring it home. So good by 2-3 pairs of socks, etc. I'll get new running shoes down there before I come home and leave the dead ones there.
I mean buy new knickers there!
I have never heard Vegas referred to as "down there" but I guess it is;)The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0 -
SHOPPINGHey, I live in Northern Canada. Pretty much everywhere is referred to as down there or down south.0

VALUE FOR MONEYWe've now arrived at The Platinum. :j Got checked in nice and early, went over to Walmart for some supplies, and then dropped them off then dropped the car off. Now car free for 4 days.
I'm a bit shocked at all the activity on the forum, it's a bit disappointing that it's getting a bit 'snappy'. I'm not going to take any of it personally, although it's quite clear that I'm being slated (amongst others), for saying that you could go through Bally's to get to Platinum. I was stating fact. Whether any place is walkable is all personal opinion. My comment was with reference to avoiding the heat, sorry if that wasn't obvious.
Dropped the car off earlier and walked back from Treasure Island. So in my opinion that is also walkable. Only gripe I have this visit is that the sheets aren't very nice. Perhaps I'll mention to housekeeping. Other than that all good. Anyway, best go get my hair dried so we can get down to happy hour at Stir before walking over to the Strip.0 -
VALUE FOR MONEYgot into Vdara about 430pm, so decent time. Cab took the tunnel but did give us the option, but we went with his advice as he said it was getting busy, and it was, so ride cost $25.
Asked nicely for a better room when checking in, nothing happening for free but got a great upgraded suite, great view of the fountains, for $30/night
wandered over to Miracle Mile, straight to Cheeseburger to stuff our faces! wandered back through the Casino and stuck a few bills in the slots, but no big win! Strip getting a bit busier now being Fri night, but time to turn in now, shattered!0 -

Thanks. I've seen people mention a couple of times of going to Walmart from the Platinum.
Is there one near Boulvevard Mall? I will have a look at the Walmart site, but I can be directionally challenged at times!0 -
