VALUE FOR MONEYrorylando45 wrote: »I have been three times and have stayed on the strip every time so far (MGM, Tropicana, Vdara [does that count?!]). I really like staying on the strip because I like being within an accessible distance of a variety of casinos each day.
I am quite keen to stay in Bill's next time, for the number of reasons:
- location is perfect for exploring the strip
- it's cheap
- the poker room there is perfect for me, I love the 50c/$1 NLH game
- it's right around the corner from the $1.99 hot dog + beer deal
Has anyone here stayed at Bill's? I don't see the name pop up very often! I know it's not the nicest hotel in the world but for the reasons above I'd love to stay there. I think you get access to someone else's pool too (Flamingo I think? Or Bally's?) and apparently you can steal their wifi too for free!

For years I've said we will never stay in the Orleans again. I don't want to see queues of hispanics stretching out the hotel cashing in their pay cheques, and I don't want a pool that is in the shade to well into late morning (depends on time of year). It's the only place one of us has ever had food poinsoning ...illegitimi non carborundum0

Has anyone here stayed at Bill's?they were a bit disappointed with it as they had moved there from Carriage House (via. Zion, Paige, Grand Canyon) but obviously the Carriage House is a bit more expensive and has better facilities - but it will certainly give you somewhere 'no frills' (and away from Linq project) to kip
If you go for it, let us know how you get on0 -

SHOPPINGMy name is stoneman, and I do washing in Vegas (actually Mrs. S does the washing I do the ironing) how do you think we manage to go for 10 nights and only take 4 suitcases with 32KG in each, as well as 2 roll alongs. If we didn't wash our stuff while there we would have to pay for excess luggage.
Oh, to hell with doing laundry when you get home. It seriously sucks.
Do what me and by travelling partner do, toss your knickers out down there. Seriously. I'm doing a marathon down there later this year and I fully intend to take my oldest gear and toss it before I bring it home. So good by 2-3 pairs of socks, etc. I'll get new running shoes down there before I come home and leave the dead ones there.
I mean buy new knickers there!0 -
CASINOSHas anyone heard about the Goretorium that's opening up later this year? I am a big fan of extreme violence and gore films, will definitely check this out on my next trip!
