Update on free brunch at Cosmo for those interested... My booking was through Virgin, confirmation said room only but I had free buffet, $30 at Chandelier bar (2 cocktails $28) and free wi fi ($15/24hr). My mum and sister booked through netflights,no freebies...boo.

Not too impressed with customer service, Ive never had to go back to reception at any hotel Ive stayed at before but found myself back a few times there:( maybe Ive just been lucky but disappointed with Cosmo.

    Back to work today,im tired....

I booked with low cost usa, I wonder why you get the offer when you booked through virgin?

as for customer service Im not getting my hopes up as many have said its bad, 12days till my trip.

Did you ask about the free buffet when you checked in, or did you just use it & see what happened?

Thanks, we are planning on trying for an upgrade - just trying to convince my friend that her Irish charm might work better than my thick Manc accent!

I've been reading that the Palace Tower is closest to the pools? Would like to be able to easily slip out for an hour or two in the sun each morning... Is Forum that much further it would make a difference?

Personally I would pick quality of room over which is closer to the pool, but haven't ever stayed in a tower room don't know if it' closer than Augustus tower. There was a back door from Agustus to the pool which would have been really quick access to the pool, but they were constructing Octavious tower so it was closed off for safety, we did have to go out past reception and through the casino to access the pool.

Does anyone else get anxious everytime they get in a cab, wondering if they are going to get long hauled?
The cab from airport to Planetho went OK as I told him to go via Swenson, but the next one from Planetho to TI cost us $13 as he went the back way via Koval and up to Wynn and the back down the strip. Should have been about $8 if he had gone straight up the strip. Next from Platinum to Paris came to $12, told him which way to go but he said he was going to take a short cut as my way was longer, should have been $9. Last night we wanted to go to the North valet of Bellagio and virtually had to force the driver to go the way I wanted because it was only a $7 fare. God knows which way he was heading but he stayed in the right hand lane on leaving the Platinum instead of getting in the left to do the u turn at the lights to head back up Flamingo. I was so het up about it by now that we just walked home last night.

If I had my rental car, Ida also gone up Koval, between Venetian and Wynn, left at FSM and down to TI. Avoid all that traffic and waiting and traffic lights. Koval is your friend.

We only got 3 taxi's one from and one to the airport and one to the crazy golf ( just round the corner from the platinum) from TI ... The woman taking us to the crazy golf tried it on saying i will go this way the traffic is bad there just now ( flammingo i think it was ... The street outside the platinum ) i said no dont bother it's always empty there this time of night thats where our hotel is

So we went that way and there was no traffic ... I cheekily said to her ... See thats me taught you something new ... The traffic here isnt bad at all lol

Yeah it was a big mistake but we had first planned to stay on strip the whole time so only booked the car for 5 days. When we changed to the plat for the other 5 I wanted to extend the booking but netflights have a no cancelation/amendment policy.
We will still probably get a cab from and to the airport in future though.
Quite liked the bus, we had to go downtown and it took us past parts we never saw before like the art district

Wifi is free and always has been, just in the past they had to give you a code and sometimes unless you asked they forgot at checkin. Now you just open a web page and it asks you to accept terms and that's it. Even works in the lifts
Must say this is very stressful sitting by the pool with a cocktail in hand soaking up the sun and only me and Tracy here, hope you appreciate the effort:)

Yes, appreciate the effort when you're having such a tough time there lol :rotfl: I do hope you weren't drunk in the afternoon yesterday

You should ditch the taxis and walk through Bally's and out the sports book door. Or, even better pop into Bills and get a couple of Margaritas and drink them on the way back to keep cool. Only $2 each, so much less than the taxi fare.

Are the cocktails pricey at the pool Stoneman? Also, have you been to happy hour 4-8pm at Stir? We quite liked it last year. I'm also wondering if there will be any unusual events this year like the fake tv wedding we attended last year at Platinum with free food & drink

Enjoy the rest of your trip. Glad the weather is good. 3 more sleeps for us.

!! yay! We like it too, occasionally, after years of refusing...at least the SDX when we're going downtown...nice for me as then I can have a drink too. :)
