We actually like one buffet, M Resort, traveling out there to partake of it, but it's a one off, usually wanting to sit down with nice linen table cloths and be waited on and choose a portion size that will not !!!!!! us up for the rest of the day.
We have tried most of them, Belagio, Wynn, Cosmo, Rio Carnival World (actually not bad), Sahara lol, most have been fine, except for Terribles, so not really any bad experiences just find the fixation with them another Vegas hype. When ever you ask people what they want to do when they go to Vegas the answers are "gamble and try the buffets" that might have been alright when they were a reasonable price years ago but the cost of them now is in my view outrageous. And we never eat enough to get value out of them.
Anyway, just my point of view that I admit I do keep harping on about, sorry.
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

i think though it IS one of those only-in-Vegas things... so a kind of must-do when you're there. i've certainly never experienced anything like them. however i do see it as a novelty thing, and certainly not a MSE way of eating while there. in a week we maybe do one breakfast and one dinner buffet. for us it's a chance to try a whole host of different foods, which you maybe wouldn't give a go any other time - and if you don't like it, just leave it and fetch something you do like :)

given the amount of food that's prepared and cooked, on such a scale and at such a demand, i think the quality is really impressive. i'm sure there's a huge amount of waste, but that's another discussion.

i can't imagine doing Vegas, and not doing a buffet whilst there... it's just fun :)

    Hi All

Landed in Vegas yesterday afternoon. Flew VA from Man on seats 24, was originally at the back of the plane but logged on the morning of departure and these were available so went for them. Rows 21 to 24 are in a small section behind PE so felt nice and private. The plane was Ruby Tuesday and not a refurbed one.

Flight was fine, food not great and I dont mind plane food. Landing was best one Ive experienced going into Vegas but our spot had been taken by another plane so had to wait 30 mins on tarmac before getting off...boo... Immigration not too bad waited about 30 mins but I was fairly near the front of a long queue. Bag collection was terrible waited ages and typically ours were the last ones off.

Got in a taxi straight away, before we left we were trying to find a private transfer to avoid waiting for taxis as there were 6 of us and a lot of luggage but with a baby didn't have much luck. Glad we didn't in the end as would have been charged waiting time and there was no taxi queue.

We are in a rented house for 2 weeks and very pleased with it. www.vrbo.com/254410. Then at Cosmo for 3 nights.

    Oh and its HOT!!!!!!:j

It looks an amazing house! One day would love to do something like that, would take some convincing to move away from hotels though!

I doubt if that will happen. I saw a news report over there a few years ago when the power that be in Clark County were discussing banning them from handing the things out.
They decided against it, because it worked out cheaper for the state to keep them in employment than banning them because a lot of those people would struggle to find work elsewhere and ultimately claim unemployment.
Also the state employs people to clean up after them (although it may change now) We were walking up near the Stardust once and a fella with loads of cards had put huge elastic bands around a lamp post and was shoving cards in them. 30 secs after he left a fella came along and threw them into his pushalong bin. It was quite funny to watch, so even though they are a pain, at least they are actually working.

I still like the little skillets at buffets!

Also that house does look awesome, bubble!
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?
