Thanks so much for the ESTA info :)

    Can I ask you all:

1 - what is your one "must do" place to Gamble?
2 - And where is the one place you "have" to go to eat?

Doesn't matter what the costs are etc, just looking to hear your very favourite places!

    Hi

My "must" place to gamble is where im going to hit that progreesive Wheel of Fortune for that lucky $20 I pop in......still trying to find it!
Other than that I like off strip casinos,Southpoint, Silverton etc. Only because I think I have had better luck at those.

As for eating we are in the casual/quick dining group. We don't have a fav place but as there are a few of us buffets are a good choice, Wicked Spoon at Cosmo is currently our fave.

    ESTAs

Mine expired at the begining of July and I go In August, thought I would leave it late so I could "gain" a month and didn't think there would be a problem as I had them before. However I changed my mind and decided it wasn't worth it so sat down to do them and realised my sons passport expires before we go!

Speedy passport completion and keeping fingers crossed I get that back then get an ESTA for him!

Im usually quite organised so don't know whats gone wrong there!

It wasn't as straight forward either, for the 3 I completed only 1 was authorized initially. I had to go back and complete the other 2 on a different day. Also the expiry dates are different, i thought they were all 2 years but mine expires next year. Anyone know why that is?

Just thought I would share this Trip Report I found of an Englishman in Vegas. It's incredibly long, but also very detailed, very photo heavy. He goes on lots of excursions - Grand Canyon South Rim tour, Red Canyon tour, some dirt bike tour, hot air ballooning, Sky Jump that I can remember!

It's also rude in places, so don't read it to your children! But it is incredibly comprehensive, and recent - he visits May 2012 and visits a lot of hotels :) I was so excited to see so many photos inside the Cosmopolitan, and also get to see what they serve at the breakfast buffet!

Sorry if it's been posted before but I found it on Trip Advisor.

The must place for us is actually the Wynn. We've always have some really good luck in there. And I got my very first Royal Flush there last year too. Granted, it was on nickels and I won $200 but the thrill of winning a jackpot was amazing.

Have to eat - errrrrr, It's usually the Fashion Mall food court ;) - If it's still available, try Panda Express's orange chicken, it's divine. Also there a Philly cheesesteak place that's great and you MUST try Nathans cheese & bacon fries. TBH me and DH don't really go for the posh places, Wynn's buffet was as posh as it got last year :rotfl: and that was a freebie, won it on that spin the wheel thing they have. ;)
BEST EVER WINS WON IN ORDER (so far) = Sony Camcorder, 32" lcd telly, micro ipod hifi, Ipod Nano, Playstation 3, Andrex Jackpup, Holiday to USA, nintendo wii, Liverpool vs Everton tickets, £250 Reward Your thirst, £500 Pepsi, p&o rotterdam trip, perfume hamper, Dr Who stamp set, steam cleaner.

comping = nowt more thrillin' than winnin':T :j

When i go in Oct this year it will be 13 months since my last trip.
I have friends going out in August.
Is there any point in asking them to play a few bucks using mt TR and !!!!!! cards?
Cant get my head round the whole expiry thing.

Depends on what your reward credits/express comps balance is. If it's a reasonable amount, then it is worth them playing to extend the life.

You could try asking the TR rewards centre to give you a 'comp $' to extend the expiry. My host at PH does this for me if my reward credits are going to expire before my next visit.

so October trip been booked for a bit...and couldn't resist the lure of the Virgin PE reward sale, so have booked for March now. :)

Sadly in checking it looks like we will just miss pebbles that time around - so glad that October dates actually match up.

There seems to be LOADS of availability for PE reward seats for 45k miles + less than £400...we checked all kinds of dates and all had availability...reward sale ends 16th July. I know maybe there are better ways to use miles, but this suits us...we may consider hoarding miles for an upper class flight sometime but are quite happy with this deal - especially as it's normally so hard to get a PE flight using miles to Vegas, or seems to be.

Not read this one (will do so though!) but 99% certain that guy used to post on Open Vegas quite a lot so have read previous TRs he has written - he always has loads of pictures and detail so look forward to reading this one as has been a few years since I have read one.

Ferf, it Definitely is John. He had a couple of meets with Norm while he was there, so I knew it was him straight away when I saw the dates. I think we missed him by a week.

I used to post on the LVTalk/Open Vegas forum but haven't for some time. Met some great folks at meets, funny how a bunch of us used that forum and met the same people, I remember Rhonda asking if we knew Pebbles :rotfl: Also met Norm, so was glad to hear my ACG ended up in his hands a few years ago, although don't know if he would remember us (think he goes to lots of meets). We also met a guy from the UK one year at a meet in the Orleans. I'm sure he was getting married shortly after, but was in Vegas on his own - not sure if his wife to be didn't want to go or if it was a substitute for a stag do. Can't remember his name, although Matty777 springs to mind, but I'm not sure if it was him. Also met Jennifer from San Diego, and Texas Lynnie, and sometimes speak to them on Facebook. Both really nice girls. I also remember Dusty, who was friendly with Frank the webmaster (we had the buffet with them).

We've not been to a meet in a few years now, although we did enjoy them. If anyone is organising one for first half of September we'd probably go along.

I've met Rhonda and Dusty several times. Matty777 rings a bell too, but don't think we met. Texas Lynnie is my facebook friend too. Haven't met her for a couple of years. We were in Vegas at the same time last trip, but kept missing each other.
We see Norm and his wife several times every trip. They are a lovely couple. I'm in touch with them regularly, and Tony and Norm go hiking every time we are in Vegas. Last trip he took us to Goodsprings where Clark Gable waited for the emergency services to find Carole Lombard's body. Very poignant. I have a few pics, I'll look for them tomorrow.
