Hello, myself and the wife are returning to vegas for the 3rd time soon. Flights booked, Flamingo go Deluxe room reserved.

Now how does the total rewards account work, I have signed up and the reservation shows up but how do I avoid the reportedly long queues at check-in ?

I know there is a separate self check-in for TR members but do i need a physical card or will the account number itself be ok ?

Hope this makes sense to somebody :D

(will do so though!) but 99% certain that guy used to post on Open Vegas quite a lot so have read previous TRs he has written - he always has loads of pictures and detail so look forward to reading this one as has been a few years since I have read one.

    Just finished reading the blog.

Helluva lot of detail with stunning photos IMHO :D

Maybe it's worth linking this on the first page as it's a good ref for what Hotel rooms are like\buffett etc. and includes pictures.

Also learnt a few new acronyms (liked MSOG  )

Anyone used Bestofvegas.com for tickets ?
I'm in the middle of booking all my shows for next months trip, and for some reason when trying to book through travelzoo for Penn and Teller,it only allows you purchase 4 tickets max.So I went onto broadway box, which I'm fairly sure I have booked through before, and they send you to Bestofvegas.I can purchase more tickets with them, but I did a dummy run,and at no stage does it give you seat numbers where you'll be sitting.
I assume they are ok,but could anyone just confirm it for me please, and do you get to know your seating at point of order,or only when you pick up tickets at will call.

well it's been a while since I've really immersed my self in the forum, the occasional snipe and post to keep my hand in. I am not able to travel this year, work and other issues, but I'm desperate.

1st Nov fly to LA stay in the Commerce (poker), 2 days at the Breeders cup (Santa Anita) and drive to Vegas til the Saturday.

VA £633 money+, Commerce £110 discount so far off my Nectar points. Where I stay in Vegas is mute Harrahs hotels will be all but free either that or Silverton, South Point or GN.

I've tried to resist but it's too much to put up with, harder than the ciggies I stopped in Jan.

    do I need counselling?

Haven't stayed at Flamingo, but the other CET properties have separate check-in for platinum and diamond (I assume seven stars get deposited in their room via roof access from the helicopter which has picked them up at the airport or something)...not sure any have a general TR member check-in.

There's a Diamond check in shown on their map, also an express check-in kiosk...lower left corner.

Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

Flamingo does indeed have a gold check in line (standard membership) I have used it the last 3 times I have stayed there and not once has anyone else been in it. The line for normal check in on each occassion was loooong.

Not sure if anyone just hasnt noticed it or what? So keep it to yourself!

Yes you will have to have your TR card though (I assume) but thats not a problem pick one up before check in the TR desk is on the opposite wall

Thanks to Lesley74 and credit_crunch for thier replies.

Firstly I am open to suggestions with regards to the flights- when i went in February I flew direct from Gatwick and I'd probably prefer to go as direct as possible again, doesnt have to be from Gatwick however-- are there direct flights from Scotland? I just dont fancy the messing about with connections, changes etc not to mention the longer flight---however it will all depend on the cost difference!!
I dont have a set month in mind but i quite fancied catching some of the early world series of poker events which start in late may, right through June and into July, I take it this is the most expensive period? I will have a look at the lowcostusa site and see what catches my eye.
Anyone else got some handy advice for me??

    Cheers, Dov

    you only live once :D

similar dilemmas, and have been trying to sneak in a trip to take advantage of the easter break at the start of April, but the flight prices are not overly kind (to be expected), and no doubt we'll be looking to go in August so possibly pushing it a bit to be honest :(

(no free hotels for me though :( ... and the missus has a lavish lifestyle that I struggle to afford ;) )

I've used them once and they were fine. It was for Donny and Marie and I was notified of the seats a couple of days after booking and they were excellent, right at the front of the section we had booked.
