VALUE FOR MONEYWhen are you going? That seems expensive to me.0

september, fly on 15th, 10 nights in vegas.. fly onto detroit 25th and then fly back home to heathrow on 29th. i thought £2291 for 2 of us was pretty good.0

VALUE FOR MONEYIt's probably just me, Have you tried Kayak?
US airways have those flights and dates for £1660 on Kayak.0 -
VALUE FOR MONEYNo non-stop flights from Scotland. Where in Scotland are you?
There is US Airways from GLA with a connection in the US or BA from any airport with a connection at LHR then non-stop from there.
Or you could go with KLM via Amsterdam and Minneapolis.
Lucy, it's strange, but those Amsterdam ones never seem to come up for us on Kayak etc, maybe they can be competitive at different times of year, but has never been a good option for us (price wise). Is it direct from Amsterdam to Vegas then? Not really any worse than going through Heathrow, although I have some bad memories of being stuck in Schipol many years ago when flying KLM to New Jersey to visit family. I ran across the airport to try to catch my flight, got there very knackered and it was delayed 14 hours. I then tried to phone the rellies to let them know and couldn't get a hold of them. And to top it off I was totally puzzled by the currency and didn't know how much anything cost. I was on my own and young.0 -

Depends on what else is included - could be a 5* hotel in Detroit, but take Pebbles' advice and check Kayak....you may well do better, and people on here will gladly help suss it out for you if you give details :beer:0 -

There are a couple of decent sized conventions and the iHeartRadio Music Festival over your dates - maybe something else too, so it may be that Vegas hotels are a bit more expensive than some other periods.
Even Imperial Palace using a discount code from smartervegas is over $700 for those nights....Excalibur over $800...CC manor motor lodge rooms are over $600 before resort fee...not saying these are the best rates out there (or that these would be alternatives to MC, but they are normally some of the less expensive options), but maybe indicate that prices are higher than average.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
Hi all, hope some of you Vegas experts can help me out.
We'll be arriving in Vegas in one and a half weeks time! We don't really have much planned for the first day because I don't know how tired we'll be, but what I really want to do for my first ever day in Vegas is to watch the sunset with a few beers, then watch the Strip light up. Wheres the best place to do this?
I was thinking perhaps the Stratosphere?
We'd like to go on a helicopter tour of the Grand Canyon but the prices seem pretty steep, about $600 per person. Is there anything a bit more money-saving, i.e. cheaperI feel like the Grand Canyon is something that we have to do. Should I book ahead before we go, or wait until we get there and take advantage of coupons that others have said are available?

No, the KLM flights are via Minneapolis. It's a few years since we did it, but the transatlantic was with North West.
I haven't see the AMS option on Kayak either. We booked with Expedia that time as it was our first trip back to Vegas after 17 years.0 -

There isn't really a sunset in Vegas. However depending on the time of year, the strip starts to light up around 7.30pm.
Stratosphere would be good, or Mix lounge at Mandalay Bay or the Voodoo lounge at the Rio which is off strip.0 -
VALUE FOR MONEYWe went via Amsterdam in the spring. It was on kayak and was £150 less than the next cheapest price. It was actually OK, and I'd do it again if the price was right.0
