VALUE FOR MONEYBut eg i can trade my Club Calrsson points for paypal credit without going near points.com. I think theres a fee for both ends to pay even when exchanging miles
agree - if you and I exchanged miles for different programmes, there is a fee to pay...maybe to cover the fees charged by the airlines for the exchange...so far cannot see any fees for the gift card options.
We may experiment and buy a smaller WalMart card or something - something we know we will use...and see how that goes before committing to more.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

Tried the Paypal option, and even though I had more than enough AAdvantage points for a $100 transfer I kept getting "you do not have sufficient points for this transaction, or you do not have the proper status level with you airline program to continue"The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. VALUE FOR MONEYJust had a little try on the site. Seems as though the giftcards might be a no go as you would have to have it delivered, and they might not send them to the U.K.
Thought about that, but I could have it sent to family in the US and have them send it on...and some are electronic so you get a code emailed (which for somewhere like Best Buy, if you could order online to collect in store would work).
Still toying with the idea - also checking options on United's site to buy stuff since we could have whatever sent to family.
I knew our miles were expiring sometime relatively soon, so regardless good to have the heads up a few months before they actually do to see what options there are...actually never occurred to me there WAS any option that didn't involve finding a way to keep them alive.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
OK, so the next trip is on. I probably have the longest T- anyone has ever had on here, T-300!
Booked using Avios points and made a good saving. Going a week later than normal, but will still be there the same time as pebblesmax.
Will be keen to get hotels booked even though I know it's far to early for offers.0 -

they were really handy, saved carrying around bottles with you... as long as the tops were sealed there was no problem!*
(* unless it's all linked to gang/gun crime, in which case: booo!)0
