There was a discussion last week about the Cosmo free breakfast offer for international guests (and whether or not to e mail them).

I booked through Lowcostusa & have exchanged a few e mails with them & the Cosmo about my booking. The Cosmo said they didn't have a booking in my name. Apparently with Lowcostusa the booking isn't in your name until 7 days before, although you can get a reference number from them.

Anyway, it was eventually confirmed I had a booking & I got the following response in respect of the breakfast -

We are showing the reservation on our system. This reservation is for 20% off our nightly rates. For the International breakfast package the reservation must be made under that specific package

So it seems that I won't be getting the breakfast - but look forward to updates from others to see if they do have any success with it.

Thats why you shouldnt (IMO) have emailed them, they may have put a note on your reservation to the effect. Whereas if you had played ignorant, who knows.

As said i got free bfast last year after booking with Lowcostusa and there was no mention of a free bfast on my booking

Ps it is common when booking through a third party for your reservation not to show on the hotels system until close to arrival

part of me does wonder if there's some confusion on the part of check-in staff as to the free breakfast for international guests...if some are assuming it's for all international guests and adding it, or if there's a glitch in the computer system that's tagging all international guests (I remember luci said that she didn't mention it - the check-in clerk did - even though she didn't book that package).

we'll see...not saying it will make a difference, but people may want to stop asking Cosmo about it as if it is a misunderstanding or glitch, too many queries about it could get that misunderstanding or glitch sorted out. :)

We booked Cosmo not expecting free breakfast as we booked the 20% off deal for international guest - nothing with breakfast included...would be cool if it is, but we would have booked anyway...probably better if people don't expect it?

actually I have a question for photome or luci or anyone who has stayed and got the free breakfasts...I understand that you charge to the room, then the cost is deducted...did you check out at the desk or on the telly? We always use the in-room telly check-out option...so now wondering, if we're lucky and do get it, if we'll have to faff about with checking-out at the desk to get the charges credited, or if it will happen automatically. We have booked deals where we had $xx credit to spend in restaurants - and that was charged to the room and deducted automatically.

    Hi Ferf

We charged to the room, it was deducted on a daily basis and we checked out on the telly with no problems. At least thats how i remember it

Like you I think the fewer people that bring it to the Cosmos attention the better chamce you all have

thanks photome...really appreciated...just realised that if we are lucky enough to get the free breakfast, I can't be dealing with going to actually check out at the desk to get the charges credited. :)
