3 months, 2 days since I went to Vegas on my stag do & I have finally got round to writing a trip report up! I will post over the next few days.

A further query asI am already starting to look when to go back? prices seem to have rocketed up since I booked last September? We paid £575 for 4 nights at Planet Hollywood in March but for same time next year is currently around £800ish, I know prices go up each year but it seems rather a steep increase?

Flight prices seem to have got sillier this year. We would have been nearly £800 for flights from Glasgow to Vegas via Philly in September, so we took the £585 option and are flying to LA instead.

I hope they don't keep up the high prices!

Finally home, 20 hours after leaving Vegas.

Quick comments off top of my head (before I fall asleep!) -
T3 did not impress, been 3 years since I last flew out of Vegas but there seemed more to do. Check in process seemed slightly illogical - went to an online machine to check in then had to go to bag drop which had no visible/logical queueing system and seemed to be dumped in the way of other stuff. Don't get me wrong, it was fine but nothing to get excited about, and there were far from being enough seating for all passengers in our plane.

Flew Virgin. Outbound flight had better IFE systems , much better service although ran out of food options very early, plain pasta with cheese sauce for loads of us! Food on flight home was awful, rock hard stale rolls, soggy salad and croutons and poor main meal.

Saw Penn & Teller, Ka and Surf - The Musical which opened on our last night. It was great, highly entertaining although a lot of that was due to wee errors, all added to our enjoyment though!

Stayed at MGM Signature. Both it and MGM were crazy busy with conventions - 17000 at one yesterday alone. There was literally a queue of several hundred people for the lift in our tower alone at lunchtime just before we left. Didn't expect the Signature to be so busy generally, both with party crowds at weekend and convention crowds at other times.

Highly recommend Ellis Island, wish we had started going there for food earlier as it was really handy and fantastically cheap, couldnt believe my $7.99 sirloin and beer deal!

We have eaten there a couple of times and it's very good. We got a voucher from Tix4Dinner for 50% off entrees which made it good value. That actually may be a better deal than the Groupon offer.

Lots of dark wood, service was excellent as was the food.

My parents were on the 1st Virgin flight to arrive on Wednesday. Didn't think too much of Terminal 3 but then again my mum was just delighted that it wasn't actually raining.......yep when the fire hoses soaked the plane she thought it was a downpour... lol!!!

Is that for flight and hotel? If so it sounds like a decent deal to me compared to what I am finding.

BA has a sale at the moment. However the flights are only £88 cheaper than they were before the sale. Maybe that doesn't sound too bad, but I'm baulking at paying £759pp as it's £70 more than we paid this year and that was bad enough.

In the past 3 years I have never found it cheaper after I have booked in a sale so this might be as good as it gets, but still not good.

That's with one connection. At the moment, 2 connections is the same price.

We ate at Ballys steakhouse a few years ago on my 40th Birthday.
I thought the quality of the steak ( chateaubriand) was very good, and quite reasonably priced. We are not really ones for paying fancy prices, for fancy dining, and very rarely eat in the higher priced restuarants,so eating somewhere like Ballys steakhouse is about as much as we like to pay:embarasse
But I know a good steak when I've had one,and the one at Ballys was excellent.

I've just booked a Virgin flight to Las Vegas for next year. £596 each, and I'm quite pleased with that.
