Oh, as for PF Chang's. They don't seem to have sides such as rice or noddles on the menu hence the reason we had lo mein, then realised that was an entree too.

Never fear, it wasn't wasted. We asked for it To Go and it was just as good heated in the oven next day for lunch. Another reason for loving the Carriage House.

I always think its bizzare that they dont have side dishes here. The last time we went, the 4 of us ordered an entree each, plus a chicken fried rice and a noodle dish, which were huge portions. Then they brought out little bowls of rice each (which we hadnt asked for, nor were billed for) - a ridiculous amount of food......but very yummy!! :)

Hey all , these pics of food are making me hungry lol ... Can anyone tell the name of a good vegetarian restuarant in vegas ? Or even a restuarant that sells steaks etc but also does good vegetarian food ? Hubby's a carnivore but i'm veggie

    Thanks :)

You can't go wrong with Grand Lux Cafe http://www.grandluxcafe.com/menu.htm and Cheesecake Factory http://www.thecheesecakefactory.com/menu/welcome/Welcome

Their menus are so huge that they have a good selection of vegetatian options.

I would probably stear clear of the buffets as they always seem meat and fish heavy and I'm not sure if you would get your moneys worth with the small vegetarian options, unless maybe at breakfast / brunch.

Since I'm American it might be easier for us...but then we think about holidays...how few they get over there compared to here. I'm pretty sure that if we did live in the US (not Vegas) and assuming we had to work we would spend LESS days in Vegas each year due to the lower number of days annual leave we would get each year. :)

lol given all that we would still emigrate if we could..although it would be hubby doing the long hours not me!!

rats... may have to rethink the dream of living there then! ;)
ah well, will just have to keep going back for holidays!

i've never thought much of people who keep going back to the same resort/destination/hotel for their holidays... but September will be our 3rd trip in 3 years, 3rd stay at Vdara! doh! such a hypocrite... :D

But Vegas changes so much there's always something new to see.

I first went in 1987 and there have been a few changes since

My Mrs would still be going to Gt Yarmouth if I'd not married her-and that's not changed at all-Still a dump!
(Gt Yarmouth -not the Mrs!;) )

hehe agreed! Lowestoft is much classier ;)

you're right, I don't think a repeat holiday to LV can be compared to a repeat holiday to a Spanish resort, etc.

you could go 10 years on the trot, stay in different places, do entirely different things, never eat/drink/gamble/see shows in the same place twice...

We have looked into buying a place in Vegas, but so far havn't taken the plunge. The deal with platinum is that you have to make it available for them to rent out for a period of time. How long wasn't clear, but we didn't want that anyway. The HOA fees are quite steep too. $500 a month is not unusual, and we thought that was too high.

Is lowestoft classier? I guess it may just be above Yarmouth but only just

Thanks for the replies on Terry Fator think I might try it.
We thought he was OK bordering on rubbish, but then I am really hard to please. I would say the only good show we have ever seen in Vegas was Carrot Top
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

Hope there was no rice in it, or you got lucky. It is one of the most common ways of picking up an illness, it's called the takeaway bug
