relief at last!
got the confirmation email from expedia just now so we are defo going to vegas!!
6th to 16th September, Dublin to heathrow, then direct to vegas with BA for £534 each!! (plus cashback from quidco & nectar points)
i seen a deal posted on another forum i think for monte carlo - i was going to book it as a back up plan for the first five nights anyway as its full refundable - its $470 for a deluxe room & this include a weekend stay.
has anyone stayed there before? & is that a decent price? what does that work out at in £'s?
we would like to spend the other 5 nights in cosmopolitan or wynn/encore i think
thanks for everything posted on here! i can now officially say i am going to vegas this year!!! :j0 -
CASINOSThanks all- have gone ahead and booked Paris!
Sorry bit late now for my opinion but thought i'd share anyway!
Have stayed at Paris twice in a P room and PH quite a few more times in a Resort fountain view, I agree with others that if you were booking the resort room at PH then IMHO is a much nicer room.
A few years ago I would have definately said PH but last couple of times I've been in the casino i've not enjoyed it as much, don't know if its cos im getting on a bit....(36) but did find it too noisey and a lot of young very drunk people.
Paris is a little more reserved and a quieter, nicer atmosphere but still a good vibe, you will not be disappointed with your choice.
Paris has one of the nicest breakfast buffets (IMO) and also Mon Ami Gabi right on your doorstep!0 -
CASINOSHas anyone been to Wicked Spoon Buffet at Cosmo? I've read some good things about it and it's on our list of possibles fo April - any experiences?
Have been for both Lunch and dinner and for price difference would probably choose lunch as cheaper but not a great deal of difference food wise to dinner.
I enjoyed it but went in April then August of the same year and noticed a couple of changes, one being they served crab legs in individual servings and presented it so you didn't have any work to do but enjoy the crab! In August however they served them like all other buffets in huge piles and left you to do the messy shelling, so wasn't impressed with that!
I loved the salads and huge chocolate stawberries, but would advise you to avoid the bone marrow.....never tasted anything like it, not good...not good at all!0 -
Thanks for your reply!
I have read a few negative reports of the HH rooms in PH, so am pleased we've plumped for Paris. Will definitely be trying the $20 trick too. Out of interest, what exactly do you say at check-in when trying it?!Sorry bit late now for my opinion but thought i'd share anyway!

VALUE FOR MONEYThought we would book our last 2 nights of holiday at Encore (Sat / Sun night) - found promo code, total quoted is £240 inc tax, including 2 buffet's and $25 drinks credit. Is this a good deal for this hotel?
So that's about $375 or so...seems like a good deal, at least looking at Wynn rate calendar...and we really like the buffet (but like Cosmo, couldn't bring ourselves to pay full price for it).Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

The cafe is quite good too, we think...as far as Vegas cafes go...it's one of our go-to options when we can't make up our minds about anything else...have been there many times. And the Burger place is good if you can get a 2-for-1 voucher...quite overpriced without.

Yep, just booked, seemed to good not to. We love the Wynn dinner buffet and will be even better this time as we don't have to pay! :j
For anyone else looking at the Wynn / Encore the promo code is NXWNTR3 - rooms from $139 per night including 2 buffets and $25 drinks credit (min 2 night stay) available for dates to end of April 2012.Lucky wins - Rituals Beauty Advent Calendar; Starbucks Coffee & £20 Gift Card; Amazing Hen Weekend at Dunblane Hydro; Heat Magazine Book Bundle; Le Crueset Goodies :j
Wishing everyone some magic fairy pixie dust for luck!0 -

Obviously people do it in different ways but we always find being polite, chatty and just pass a $20 over with your passport or credit card and ask if they have any complimentary upgrades. Others will ask first and then tip.
I also find it helps to know what room you would like to be upgraded to,look on the hotel website for different rooms. It maybe that you want a strip view this can also be classed as an upgrade as they are usually at a higher rate.
I was asked at MB what I had in mind and was able to name a room type, think it may have helped we got a 2 room upgrade
At Paris the P room is a standard room but positioned in the corner so bigger than the others.
They can always say they have nothing available and will give you your money back, you never see them again so its no big deal might aswell give it a go!0 -

I think it was tretts that used to say "and here is my upgrade voucher":rotfl:The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0
