Logging in courtesy of McCarran free WiFi. It was very hazy this morning. Some fires somewhere in California I think. Six weeks is not long enough! I don't want to go home.

We hardly gamble to be honest, but I won $200 free play at Palms, and Tony won $100. We cashed out $222.43 after playing it through.

Have you checked the price with Virgin Holidays? Our 3 nights worked out the cheapest with them.

Thanks, had a look and it's more than lowcostusa...we will probably book direct I think...while I've read that comps at Cosmo aren't very generous, I really prefer to book direct.

We're going in October...far too long...but hopefully it will go quickly enough.

Safe trip, pebbles...I cannot believe it's been 6 weeks already!

And thanks for the review on Gordon Ramsay, Luci...we think we're going to give it a try in October...it's vastly more than we've spent on any meal in Vegas with the exception of ToTW...but we think it would be a nice thing to do to celebrate our landmark trip. :)

Hi all. I'm trying to book my first holiday to Vegas and everything has gone fine so far. But the incredible mass of hotels is leaving my mind frazzled. I'm looking to book one room for four people somewhere central in Vegas. The Mirage looks a very good option and there seems to be some good deals. Does anyone else have any good suggestions? It would ideally have a good restaurant in, nice rooms and be reasonably priced.I'm not looking to spend more than about £600 overall. It would be for four nights in June. Obviously the cheaper the better.

    Many thanks.

    .

It may be worth considering 2 rooms for 4 people as most hotels charge about $30/night per person over 2...depending on your dates and the hotel you decide on, having 2 rooms may not be that much more than one and would be far more comfortable...unless maybe 2 of the people are kids? £600 for 4 nights is quite a lot really...about $240/night if I'm working that out right. Are you staying a Friday and Saturday? If so, prices will obviously be higher.

Don't worry too much about restaurants at your hotel as you'll have all of Vegas to choose from and won't want to restrict yourself to one place to eat anyway. 'Nice rooms' is a bit relative so hard to say. Do you have any other particular preferences?

Oooo! 17th for 9 nights for us...maybe we'll overlap this time!

Now I'm going to bed after having about a 30 minute panic in being unable to find my old passport (the one with my visa in it) and having visions of October not happening as my new passport was being held hostage/being processed by the Home Office! :)

As Ferf says £600 for 4 nights is a lot which means you pretty much have the pick of most hotels, reasonably priced to me would be £50 a night. which obviously then limits your choice. where are you looking at?
they all have nice rooms just some are nicer than others, and all have good restaurants...there are more than enough restaurants within walking distance of wherever you stay to keep you fed in 4 days
