Hi guys,
Can anyone tell me what the Lake View Rooms by virgin come under on the bellagio website? I can't work out if it is one of the guest rooms pictured or not!
Thanks in advance0 -
Well we're home.
Flight with BA pushed back a few mins early and landed on time at 14.30. Hubby said his chicken and rice dish was passable, my pasta dish was inedible, but the Eli's cheesecake was good.
We didn't use Flight Connections as security going that way is a nightmare. Went through Arrivals and used IRIS and we were landside in no time. We had chosen the 18.25 flight LHR-ABZ rather than the 16.05 as it's hit or miss whether we could catch that one despite haring through the airport. Our flight was 40 mins late departing.
Finally got home at 10pm Friday night. Jet lag hence being on here at this time.
We had a great trip. Had a few more high end meals than normal and less gambling. Couldn't believe how little we had spent in cash the first week, but made up for it the second week. The credit card took quite a hammering though, but nothing new there. I was getting $1.625 using the Clarity card.0 -
VALUE FOR MONEYWelcome back, Luci! Sounds like you had a good trip...and nice to hear that the exchange rate is creeping back up a bit!Went through Arrivals and used IRIS
Had you read that it's being shut down after the olympics? I'm gutted. While I did sign the petition stoneman posted on another thread, I don't hold out much hope.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
Yes I had read that on here and signed the petition for both of us. It's a huge time saver. I guess the next best would be the E-gates although I have never used them.
We put the monorail tickets to good use going to Envy on Saturday, thanks. Tried to use them again on the Sunday and waited ages for a monorail to arrive. Then there was an announcement that there was a delay. A train finally arrived, but it was heading north on the southbound track which confused us for a minute.
Turned out a train had broken down so we gave up. It still didn't look like it was working a few hours later so just as well we weren't relying on it.0 -
HOTELSI am totally new to the whole concept of Vegas, I am pretty well travelled but this is just something different I have never had so much choice.
Staying at Vdara for 5 days and are happy with the deal we got through last minute.
Now to sort some decent places eat that are close to the hotel? Any recommendation on reasonably prices places that we can walk to?
We like the looks of ENVY steakhouse for a treat but I know it's a cab ride away so anything closer? Is miracle mile far to go? What about Monte Carlo via the monorail?
Love this forum by the way, I just wish I could remember all the great advice I have read so far.:beer:0 -
Mon Ami Gabi is across the road at Paris.
What do you mean by reasonable, ie how much per head without drinks?
You can get to Envy on the monorail from Bally's/Paris and get off at the Convention Centre.
Miracle Mile is across the road at Planet Hollywoood.
Monte Carlo has Andre's, but I've never heard of anyone eating there.
Open a Word document and copy any snippets of information there as you find them.0 -

You may know already, but just in case, you can get a restaurant.com voucher for ENVY which will cut down the cost ...not sure if there is a current code - the last one I had emailed was MOM and expired on 10th May.
There are loads of places to eat - I wouldn't necessarily worry too much about limiting yourself to places close to your hotel - you'll likely be out and about most of the time anyway. I do think Mon Ami Gabi is a great option if you wait for patio seating...reasonably priced and just such a nice atmosphere.
Luci - glad you got some use out of the monorail tickets...shame about the issues the next day though.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
As Ferf says £600 for 4 nights is a lot which means you pretty much have the pick of most hotels, reasonably priced to me would be £50 a night. which obviously then limits your choice. where are you looking at?
they all have nice rooms just some are nicer than others, and all have good restaurants...there are more than enough restaurants within walking distance of wherever you stay to keep you fed in 4 days
I've been looking at hotels pretty much in the centre of the strip, including The Mirage and The Bellagio. But you guys have mentioned that there could be better deals out there at better prices. What hotels do you guys recommend?
As you all said, there are plenty of restaurants everywhere so that doesn't matter too much. There are just so many choices that I'm not sure which one to go for. Tripadvisor seems all over the place with regards to Vegas. Thanks.0 -
VALUE FOR MONEYWelcome back Luci hope you had a great time.
I'm curious if there's any new outdoor bars on/near the strip. I quite like a drink outdoors on a warm evening. :beer:0 -
HOTELSThanks for the tip, hadn't come across Mon Ami Gabi and it sounds just what we are looking for.
Think I am trying to get too organised, maybe its best to plan just a couple and see where you end up for the remainder.
Word document now open!0
