glad you had a good journey there, Luci...may have to check out the Tropicana promo you mention - we signed up years and years ago but probably long enough that we are off their system and the promo you mention sounds intriguing!

Definitely worth it ferf. Palms to it too. We used it last year on the Norwegian Epic and will use it again this year.

The Tropicana is also doing an Even the Odds promo where you can get back between $20 and $200 of your losses on the first day of sign up until 2.59am. As we were winning we didn't need to go back. ;)

They give you 50% back the first day, 25% back the 2nd day and 25% the 3rd day.

Hi Guys, bit of a random question...

I am going to LV on the 2nd June (good times!) and I know the Rockhouse bar is closing in May (bad times).

Does anyone know if there is anywhere else on the strip that serves the guitar shaped cocktail drinks containers, as the Rockhouse will be closed?
I see the PBR Rockbar sells them on their website, but can anyone confirm whether you can buy them in-house?

    Cheers

I'm not 100% sure, but I think the Coyote Ugly bar in NY NY sells them. Someone will come along and either say yay or nay, but I'm certain I saw people buying them when I was there last June.

Landed last night with BA at 7pm. Managed to snag a pair of seats at the back at the 24 hour check in and they were great, enough leg room and space at the side to dump stuff. Would consider paying the £30 each to book them in advance. Service was good. We departed 35 mins late, but landed on time.

We were at the back of the Border Control queue with being at the back of the plane and were through in about an hour.

Taxi to the Carriage House was $16 something + tip. Asked the driver not to take the tunnel and he asked why. Told him it was a lot more expensive. He said traffic was bad so I told him just to take Swenson and he said he knew which way to go. However he was nice with it and not nasty like some drivers we've had. He said the traffic was better than it had been an hour earlier.

It was 80F when we arrived and it's been so cold at home it was a bit of a shock.

Got 20% off the CH for staying 3 nights or more. Got the same room as last time which is an adapted room with a large bathroom and kitchen. The bedroom was very dark due to a lack of lights, but we really like the rooms at the CH.

I can't eat much for a few days after long haul so just went to Denny's where service was slow as usual.

Finally went to bed at midnight after being up since 6.30am UK time and I only had 4 hours sleep the night before we left. Woke a few times and was going to get up, but it was still only 00.45 when I looked at the clock. Woke a few times more then got up at 2.45.

Glad to hear you arrived safely. Up at 245 OMG, that's even earlier than me. I have managed to stay in bed till 4am most times - albeit reading from about 1am lol :rotfl:

    Enjoy!!!

The bar in the Miracle Mile Shops (opposite Earl of Sandwich) sell the guitar cocktails - think they were $40.

There was also an outside bar beside Imperial Palace selling them the other week, think they were cheaper at $35.

Lesley, an update on the Carriage House.

We asked to see a remodeled room on Saturday and the one bedroom suite is really nice. Dark furniture, new sofa with chaise longe, black fridge freezer and toaster. We saw one with a full kitchen and shower room instead of full bathroom. The shower area hasn't been remodeled and is still the old brown tiles.

The rooms facing the strip are quite dark as they are facing west. There is some sort of metal grating on the road now at Harmon which is quite noisy when the traffic goes over it. I don't notice it, but hubby does.

Timed the walks and it was 5 mins to the Harley-Davidson Cafe and just over 10 mins to Ellis Island.
