I believe you can still use the Rio pool with a Total Rewards card. You can sign up for TR at any of the Caesars (prev Harrah's) Entertainment Casinos. Rio, Harrah's, Paris, PH, Flamingo, Caesars, Imperial Palace, Bally's. Maybe I've missed one...not sure. Other pools that you can pay to enter tend to be of the people watching type.

You can use the pool at the Flamingo after 1pm. You can also now use the Cosmopolitan pool if you have an Identity player's card.

PH Towers is now called the Elara and is a HGVC.

Gordon Ramsay Steak opens at Paris on 11 May. However they are having a soft opening on Monday so we have booked for Tuesday as we already have a dinner reservation for Monday.

What dates are you looking at? sorry i said that wrong ... i can get dates for las vegas in all places but was finding the deals wernt available when i searched ( it could be that maybe new deals will be available soon) i also really struggled to get accomadation in death valley and the b&b that a few have talked about in yosemite park

All the hotels you mention are on the strip...whether they would be good options for you is a matter of personal preference. it's just so hard to know as i have never been there before, i was th inking it was safer to stay on the strip, we are not really looking to do much in vegas apart from rest, so we are looking for a pool, some entertainment, decent food, not too expensive but not rubbish , we arnt really interested in gambling and much as i would love to go and see cirq du soliel i wouldnt give them the money for the tickets

www.lowcostusa.co.uk/ usually has some reasonably good deals for higher end hotels like Wynn, etc - have you checked with them? Or have you checked the other links on the first page for special offers availalbe to the public? i have not hecked with the lowcostusa before but i did check with several links that were on the first page i was having the same issues with all of them ... yes i could get the wynn but it was no with any reduction ... i think it could be more my timing than anything else as i noticed that things change daily ( have only really started with my holiday plans)

If your dates do happen to coincide with a major event, it may be that hotel rates are higher than normal...weekends are normally more expensive, so you can cut your costs by timing your Vegas nights accordingly if you have flexibility, which it sounds like you may, to some extent.

thanks very much for the help i will check out the link you have provided ... i think it just feels overwhelming for me just now i am trying to take in hotel booking finding tickets food prices car hire etc .... i need to do one bit at a time ... but i think i will feel better once i have the accomadation booked

had a quick look at low cost usa and the prices appear in pounds which is a great help thanks ..... the prices seem to be cheaper as well ... thanks very much for this

Do you need to stay in Death valley? there is very little accomodation in the valley, from memory just the one hotel in furnace creek which is why you are struggling. IMO you could drive through the valley in a day (with stops)

Yosemite also has limited accomodation and often gets booked up a year in advance so you will prob have to look at a town outside of the park itself, IMO def worth 2 nights there.

If its available the yosemite lodge is an awesome place to stay as it is at the bottom of yosemite falls, fantastic view of the falls from your balcony http://www.nationalparkreservations.com/yosemite_lodge.php?gclid=CKC898j14K8CFQMNtAodGBz_Dg

The trick is to not try to do it ALL in one trip-even if it is three weeks.;)

I plan to drive through Death Valley from Williams->Bishop portion-I've never stayed there on other trips either.

    BTW
First and last nights I usually use Priceline (tho never in Vegas).

Though this trip I have used my Holiday Inn points

my vote is stay at Furness Creek in Death Valley - a bit of sub-sea level golf first thing in the morning, a nice relaxing swim in their warm spring fed pool and a good base to explore the place without rushing yourself - as well as a few different food options :)

Re: Hotels, I'm in the same position of never been before (going in sept), what I did do was google the name of the room/suite in the hotels you fancy and then click on the video bit of google and people have uploaded a walk through of their rooms, it's persuaded me to go for the vdara and getting a deal through cheaprooms via quidco for an extra 3% cash back.
