Gill - We've booked aTerrace Suite too - can't wait!

It just seems odd to give you a kitchen & no crockery or cutlery. Wasn't planning on cooking but a plate or two wouldn't go a miss. Oh well, just have to try out the Wicked Spoon several times.

Haven't been in the Cosmo as it wasn't there last time we went but we are going with friends who are on their 5th trip & they have been wanting to try it for ages.

ask for utensils when you check-in, or just call housekeeping from your room and they will bring them

I am guessing the reason behind the lack of utensils etc is that the Cosmo in the most part wasnt designed to be a hotel, so the rooms with the kitchens were supposed to have been sold as condos. That idea went down the pan when the recession hit so they ended up being "large" hotel rooms.

I have stayed there in a one bed terrace room and we didnt touch the fridge, they came in to do an inventory on it just as we got to the room, and as there was no space in it we didnt open it again. In fact we didnt use any part of the kitchen during our stay

It does sound like the terrace suite is much bigger again though so fridge is prob different

I'm looking at flights for September from MAN-SFO then LAS-MAN and have come across US Airways flights for £517 which is a fantastic price, given that the times are good and other flights are £700+. My concern is that all reviews I have read say that they are a bad airline.

Does anyone have experience of travelling with them, and would you recommend?

    Thanks

Great TR Gill - sounds like a wonderful time! One day I do want to try Cosmo...and we also love Encore...those beds, and the controls for the drapes, love them! :)

    Now I want asian nachos.

I think we're booking our October flights this weekend...yay! It's the 20th trip, so we're trying to come up with stuff to do specially...like visting the Welcome to Las Vegas sign and going up the Eiffel Tower (finally, in both cases). :)
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

Flew US Airways to LAS changing at Charlotte last year. I'd say theyre no better, no worse than the alternatives. In what way have you heard they are bad?

Reviews on Tripadvisor and Airlinequality are less than complimentary about their service, food, ground staff and cabin crew. We generally fly with US carriers and have found the crew and service to be pretty good, so I was just a bit concerned that nobody had a nice word to say about US Air. It's good to hear someone say they are not that bad!

Landed last night with BA at 7pm. Managed to snag a pair of seats at the back at the 24 hour check in and they were great, enough leg room and space at the side to dump stuff. Would consider paying the £30 each to book them in advance. Service was good. We departed 35 mins late, but landed on time.

We were at the back of the Border Control queue with being at the back of the plane and were through in about an hour.

Taxi to the Carriage House was $16 something + tip. Asked the driver not to take the tunnel and he asked why. Told him it was a lot more expensive. He said traffic was bad so I told him just to take Swenson and he said he knew which way to go. However he was nice with it and not nasty like some drivers we've had. He said the traffic was better than it had been an hour earlier.

It was 80F when we arrived and it's been so cold at home it was a bit of a shock.

Got 20% off the CH for staying 3 nights or more. Got the same room as last time which is an adapted room with a large bathroom and kitchen. The bedroom was very dark due to a lack of lights, but we really like the rooms at the CH.

I can't eat much for a few days after long haul so just went to Denny's where service was slow as usual.

Finally went to bed at midnight after being up since 6.30am UK time and I only had 4 hours sleep the night before we left. Woke a few times and was going to get up, but it was still only 00.45 when I looked at the clock. Woke a few times more then got up at 2.45.

If it was me I would book the £517 price if I was happy with it.

There isnt much difference between any economy seats. You do have to pay for food/drinks on internal flights with most Us airlines so may pay to only have ashort final flight within the US.

There was a post earlier saying they would rather fly with BA or Virgin but 2 of my worst/most uncomfortable flights have been with BA and Virgin
