  • Have spent the last few days looking at new(er) promos for rooms for our upcoming trip. Unusually this year (compared to the last 3 years) I have found that the big players like hotels.com, expedia, and lastminute.com are coming up with much better prices than the vegas hotel promotion websites that we have used to good effect in the past.

We have now settled on the following for our trip

    24th-26th March - 2 nights at Planet Hollywood (avg £60 a night inc breakfast) booked @ lastminute.com
    26th-30th - 4 nights at Cosmopolitan (avg £75 a night) booked @ expedia
30th-2nd Apr - 3 nights comped at NYNY booked @ MLife
2nd-7th - 5 nights at Mirage (currently on a deal that works out about $600 + buffets but hoping to better that) mirage promo code

    Hi,

Where is the best place to look for cheap flights (from London)
    www.kayak.co.uk
"Sales" are on now for BA, AA and Virgin

What would be the best things to do in vegas in 4 days (we could do longer)
Read this and previous threads ;)

Where is the best place to book hotels (we would want a reasonable hotel in vegas, approx £100 per night max, and cheaper ones for the rest of our trip).
    www.lowcostusa.com is a good start

Would we be best to hire a car for the time we are in Vegas, or wait until we leave.
    When you leave IMHO

What is the best way to see the Grand Canyon
Stay at least one night near the rim.

Any suggestions on where to stay / what to do, between San Diego and San Fransisco

And that's for Thurs, Frid, Sat nights :D

I booked it in September last year. Their web-site was showing a Thursday night as only £30! I tried to book it but didn't get any confirmation. So I played around with some dates and got this very low price.
Not sure if it was a web-site error but I'm happy!

Lowcost have block room bookings and issue an accomodation voucher 21 days before travel so I assume the earlier you book the better bargains you get. (This was 7 months before).

I'm hoping to get upgraded as I'm a Priority Club Platinum member (though not an Ambassador-which is what these Intercontinental hotels reward).

What would be the best things to do in vegas in 4 days (we could do longer) ]on our first trip we had a meal in top of the world at stratospher, spent an evening in freemont street, tried to visit as many hotels as they are all huge, shark reef at mandalay bay, gondolas at venetian. and lots of shopping - i loved fashion show mall, miracle mile shops & the outlets

Where is the best place to book hotels (we would want a reasonable hotel in vegas, approx £100 per night max, and cheaper ones for the rest of our trip)
we booked hotel direct (MGM) and the other through travelrepublic.co.uk. Monte Carlo have an offer on, so try their own website

    .
On our next trip I want to go up the eiffel tower, and eat at more restaurants. might look at the scoot city tour this time too
    Hope this helps :-)

Also loved the trip report. How lucky were you to win $1198! One more dollar and you would have had to complete a W2G (I think it's called) to save having to pay tax.

wow, I did not know that! it's just as well I probably wasn't in the best condition to be signing forms at half 4 in the morning!!

This seems like an interesting deal for Bally's...seems you can buy multiple vouchers to stay more than one night...and the fact that you can use the buffet passes at 3 different buffets means not getting stuck at the same place all the time if you do go for multiple nights.

Two dinner buffets at any of the 3 listed would cost nearly $56 on their own (without a coupon, which, OK, most of us would have :))...and can't see any dates that the North Tower rooms at Bally's are anywhere near $56/night on hot deals (haven't checked F&F though).

There are black-out dates, of course...but may be interesting for someone.

    http://www.travelzoo.com/local-deals/Las-Vegas/Getaway/10687?utm_source=top20_us&utm_medium=email

Overnight stay on the Las Vegas Strip for 2 people for $56 per night
Sundays-Thursdays through August or $115 per night on weekends
Upgraded North Tower Deluxe room with marble bathrooms (reg. $139)
2 buffet passes (reg. $56) - The buffet passes can be used once for breakfast, lunch or dinner at:
    • Le Village Buffet at Paris Las Vegas
    • Spice Market Buffet at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino
    • Carnival World Buffet at Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino
Purchase multiple vouchers to stay multiple nights and mix and match them for stays that include both weekdays and weekends
Buffet passes will be included for each day of stay

Thanks, fancy booking a few days in August. But there will be 2 adults and a 17 year old, does anyone know if you could book this deal, and maybe pay a premium for the third person in the room.

The rate for each person over 2 is normally $30/night at Bally's

    ADDITIONAL PERSON CHARGES
Maximum occupancy is four persons per room. There is an additional nightly fee of $30 per person for rooms with more than 2 occupants, regardless of age. Note: if you have one adult and one child and you book online, you will see the additional charge but this will be adjusted upon check-in.

may be worth calling and asking them how they would handle it if you bought the voucher before committing...but may not be as good a deal - unless only 2 people wanted the buffet each day, as you'd end up paying $30/night for the room + the buffet price for the 3rd person + $56/night...still not a bad deal, but loses some of its value...I guess to some extent it depends on how much the buffets are worth to someone - they may cost about $56 for 2...but some people wouldn't pay that anyway and would be quite happy with meals costing a lot less.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

.........although Im sure its not unheard of for more than two people to be in a room unbeknown to the hotel......
