Should be reported to Trading Standards. I bet your friend paid a fortune for this mongrel....

I can't recall what she paid to be honest, but I imagine it was over the £200 mark.

Thing is, if people are as gullible to believe it what can you do? Surely the first thing any potential responsible dog owner does is research a breed thoroughly and completely.

As an aside though, someone posted a link on here last week to a rescue site called many tears (http://www.manytears.co.uk/) being a loving Mum to a wonderful Scottie dog I often take a naughty peek at rescues if they are linked on here praying not to see Scotts as it would result in another mouth to feed and a hacked off husband, but I digress...

I was shocked and completely appalled by that website, it seems to have a collection of over a hundred dogs, a good majority of which are described as coming from breeders or ex breeding dogs and almost all are noted to have no social interaction nor ever have lived indoors. How can a responsible breeder possibly home a dog for 6 years, breed from it then dispose of it like that? It sickens me to be honest and there really should be some way of clamping down on it.

Descriptions like this are all too common on there:
3yr old ex-breeding Westie and an absolute poppet. She is very sweet but has never lived in a home before so will need another kind dog to help boost her confidence
4 year old Boxer who has come to us from a breeder as she is no longer needed. She is an incredibly sweet and gentle girl who is a total beginner on the lead and will need a patient and encouraging owner(s) to help her learn
5 year old yorkie. He has come to us from a breeder as he is no longer needed. He is very nervous and does not know how to walk on a lead.

What sort of person takes a dog, sticks it outdoors in a kennel with no interaction and no walks and then abandons the poor thing when its useful purpose is gone.

Please be warned if you do read that site, be prepared to shed a tear or two. Many Tears deserve a medal they really do.

I was just looking at the Many tears website and they have some gorgeous puddy tats there, (all cats are gorgeous though). My favourite is Snickers!

They had 2 Scotties last week (both reserved thank god! lol), one was a pup seemingly abandoned by breeder because he had a skin condition (I assume breeder didn't fancy paying for a vet) and the other an ex breeding b1tch, who I have to say was a very very poor standard old girl but still adorable.

I do question though who are these people happy to go out and pay top money for a pedigree dog from a shed?

Presos are wonderful dogs - I know an American chap who has one, she's beautifully trained and socialised and is fab around all his nieces and nephews, does exactly what he tells her to do. However, her night-time entertainment if allowed is to go out and rip coyotes to bits.

Not a dog for most people!

I suspect they are from puppy farms. Ex breeding stock that are no longer wanted.

    Perry is a JRT X

    could be JRT x Whippet
    or JRT x Bullterrier

he runs like a whippet, has the brindle colour of bullterrier but not the nature (phew) although he doesn't like other dogs, and very protective of me towards anyone not in his normal family unit (me, OH, DS, family and friends)
he just loves my female friends he is such a tart.

but to me he is and always will be a JRT X, mongrel or a heniz, none of the silly new fancy names.
