I know, they just called her 'puppy' apparently. Also she had 'some papers but not all'... what's that - half a pedigree??? I don't like the Big Brother mentality, but something should be done about all these idiots breeding dogs when they know nothing about it, and getting dogs without a thought for the poor dog. They gave the reason for rehoming as 'too many pets and expecting another baby'.

Not going to look on there again.... I could end up like that mad woman with all those cats on tv the other night!

I joke that Kiki (Rottweiler x GSD) is a Rotten Shepherd, if I wasn't fussed about contributing to the silly fad of designer names then I'd tell everyone that's what she was and see how many people believed me :rotfl:

Probably not a good thing to do, but just looked on Gumtree. Someone is rehoming for £350 a harlequin dane b1tch, 9 months old. The saddest thing that the advert says is

If I had the room I'd take her tonight.. (my last dane was a harlie... this one looks like her)

Poor baby, that's so sad :mad:

When I got my dog, a first cross between a labrador and a whippet, the owner advertised the pups as being Whipadors!!!

My dog is a cross, but not a common mix, we've joked about what he would be called... maybe a LakePuff!

My first dog ever was a crossbred. She was a small terrier type, with border collie in her too. She came from a market for 15 shillings (yes I know, I'm that old...), although I was only 7, she was my sister, my companion and my teacher. I owe her a great deal of my dog savvy...

It's the names that are ridiculous - although you can have a lot of amusement by getting the oodle ones the other way around, so it starts with poo, and really overemphasize the POO part of the name - the labradoodle brigade get incredibly flustered when you refer to them as POOadors!

People keep asking what one of mine is - and look most baffled when I just say, well he's got a leg at each corner and goes woof and is whatever was wandering down the back alley when mum was in season so I guess he's a common or garden mutt! They just cannot deal with him not having a fancy name (if anything he'd be a GollieTerrier - GSDxCollie x some unspecified terrier to explain the slobbery beard).
Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!
  • There were pups in my local paper yesterday. Dad was a Llahsa Apso cross and mum was a poodle cross (so at least 4 breeds) and they were asking £450 for the b!tches and £400 for the dogs!

    Madness.

My dog is a lab/poodle cross, and that's how I refer to him, sick of people cooing over my 'labradoodle'. He's not a freaky hybrid, he's just a mixed cross dog!

That's so sad. What are they going to call the baby? Baby?
