Why would you be transferring the ISA within the same year? I'd open the best deal one, then this time next year look at the next good deal and transfer the whole lot over.

ETA: Agree with fallenwiccan, it'll confuse the tax-free element if you opened more than one in a year. If you transfer correctly however, using the new account's transfer paperwork then there shouldn't be a problem.

    That's what I meant ;) I'm so rubbish at explaining things! x

Ah this makes more sense now :) I think I got confused because I opened mine in September, so I don't know whether I have to wait until September to transfer it or whether I can do it come April. I can't find the paperwork to tell me the interest rate oops.

You can transfer when you decide to open a new one in April, whoever you choose, tell them you want to transfer your old one :) simples.

Disclaimer: check transfer t&cs for current bank but 'should' be ok!

Thank you everyone :) I'm going to start saving for a house, which will take me at least 4 years so will open the best deal I can find in April and transfer then :)

Sorry to hear about your work situation Jemma. At least you're prepared in advance for your meeting next week. We lost a big contract a couple of years ago and heard it on the grapevine first, and it did make the "official" news a lot easier to take.

Jakes-mum, am hoping you suddenly get lots of apologies on fb from people who didn't get your message in time. Sorry you feel so let down, that's really pants.

Just got the dreaded letter from bank this morning to say our mortgage rate is going up. Rats!

Am being I right lazy so and so tonight and making the kids Jacket spuds for tea as when we went to tesco on the weekend I picked up a bag out of the king edward box and some thoughtful sould had chucked a bag of jacket spuds in there, and yep you guessed it, those are the ones I picked up :o double blow as they were on bogof :rotfl: Im having roast dinner again and tbh they get a bit fed up of it, so am considering scooping out the middles of the jackets, mixing with ham and cheese, refilling and rebaking so thy get quite a filling dinner . . . might even spring for some baked beans to go on top :rotfl: I spoil them so :rotfl:
