On the programme it said 20 sec bursts of manic activity 3 times a day, 4 times a week - I think - *runs off to check on i-player*.

ETA - can't find on i-player but I remember the guy saying it would only take him 12 minutes to do over the period he was testing it - which would seem to fit in vaguely with what I've written above.

I think it was 20secs 3 times a day giving 3mins per week so over 4 weeks this gives 12 mins.*big cheesy grin* oooh think I've found the smiles... :D

I've just thrown 1/4 cup of citric acid into the loo water :) Gave it a quick swish with the loo brush and I think in the morning the thick scummy limescale might all be gone ooooh! I know it's the weakest acid, but I had 1kg of it so thought I would give it a go :)

Oh and Jemma, sometimes people think I'm slacking because I'm able to do multiple things all at one time. So when I'm waiting for a script to run I'll be on here, however if people only ever look at my screen when I'm on the MSE pages, then they'll think I don't do any work either. Although from what you've said it doesn't sound like you enjoy it there that much anymore :(

I think I'm just fed up of it all. There has to be more to life than this... the politics is really starting to get me down. Never mind, it's given me a good kick up the backside to save even more of my salary each month as you never.know what's around the corner

    Hi Jem,

Sorry to hear work isn't going too well for you, I think there's more and more people who are finding that the pressures are increasing, with everyone making cutbacks.

I'm feeling pretty precarious myself and trying to get back to my safe old job with a small pay decrease. I think having a good backup fund is a good plan, and it's the first priority after the debts have gone.

I'm not quite in as bad a position as it could be, I'm getting a couple of hundred quid as a bonus next month, and a payrise that's fairly close to inflation, but the job is still too risky for me.

Hope you find the right way to deal with it, and don't get stressed about the politics of the office. (If you figure this one out, can you let me know the answer?).

    Hugs Jemma.

I know how you feel when it comes to being spied on at work.

Won't go into details but nothing I did was ever good enough. They wrecked too many of my weekends with their 'little chats' on a Friday afternoon, that one Friday night I got severely drunk and ended up crying on my friends in the loo talking about what was the point in carrying on (IYKWIM ?:eek:).

The next day they received a very un-polite resignation email from me.

So glad I don't do office work any more.

Good luck next week and rip them apart xxxx

So sorry to hear your news Jemma. Could I ask about the person who had this quiet word with you? Is it a reliable source, or maybe someone out to cause trouble? :( Just reading through your posts, you always seem to give so much to your work. Good luck with your plans to go solo! :T

  • Fed up today. Hubby's car need MOTing this month as does mine. Our neighbour normally does them, but he's had a look at hubbys car and because it needs so much doing to it, its going to have to go to a garage (as our neighbour can't get parts at trade price so it's not going to be cost effective for him to do it.) I have a really small budget of about £400 for the two cars to be done, and it looks like hubbys car is going to use up all of that, so no idea how we'll pay for mine, which is the one we need for commuting as I do a 40 mile round trip in it every day!

(We're off to Holland at Easter in hubbys car, so it needs to be reliably fixed and serviced, hence him needing his done too.)

Sighhhh you soon know who your mates are when you need a favour dont you :( Asked via facebook status (dont really like putting people on the spot by ringing as thats what was always done to me!) if anyone would be able to run me and lily round the corner (2 minute drive) to take her to nursery and pick her up later. Not one single reply, not even 'sorry mate am off out or I would have done'. Ive done everything from lending cash to following them to the petrol station as they have so little fuel they might break down  driving to appointments, taking shopping etc for some of them over the last 6 years so am quite annoyed that when I need help they cant even be bothered to say no.

Well I know what to say next time im asked for a favour dont I :(
