It's not just me then! And as you can see I couldn't resist
I am in awe! Your reply was so considered. Next time I need to write a letter of complaint I know who to ask for advice! I'm afraid my first instinct was to tell her to f off. But I couldn't find that smiley.:rotfl:

I'm amazed how a few pieces of rubber can make a room a) warmer b) quieter! £10 well spent
I got off my backside and put the draught excluders round the rest of the window. It wasn't as fiddly as I thought it was going to be
In case anyone is clueless to what I'm talking about... Draught excluders are strips of rubber type stuff with double sided tape on the back. You cut them to size, wipe down the window and frame, then place between the window and the frameI've stuck mine on both the window and the frame as the gap was bigger than 7mm. They come in different sizes and shapes, and can cut your heating bill
Less cold air coming in = lower heating bill

Well the window seals were knackered so he pulled the handle and slotted 2p's (Well you could put anything between there) between the handle and the frame, and it keeps the window tight, it was great

So, last night I decided to have another go at comping. I tried it last year for a few months but got bored cos I never won anything.
Anyway...I have had my first win!!! 2 tickets to the Opera on Saturday night! All I have to do now is get the OH to actually go with me. This will NOT be easy given that his music of choice is metal!Trying hard...failing miserably

psychopathbabble: Just read all the thread. OMG! So glad I tend to stay on the DFW boards as every other boards seems to be berate people! Though not everyone is great on the DFW boards naming no names!
fallenwiccan: Congratulations. House warming at yours then?
Kerri: Don't envy you in that situation!
Jake's mum: Just read your thread and was reminded of something one my friends did when she got her house re-decorated she put an advert in the paper and men paid her to paint the house! She put an advert in the paper as an S & M mistress and generally shouted at men and all sorts of other strange things ! The funniest thing was she had no interest in them at all and had a long term girlfriend! Always an option! Does he like rubber!
Anyway quick update heads, really bad cold at the minute. Met up with boss for a meeting with one of our users of product, wasn't feeling great this morning then he ordered hash browns for breakfast! Nearly threw up then and there plus headache which is nearly making me see double. Made my excuses and went home after the meeting!
No 149 Total paid now £5,399.91 amount paid off is 37.87%
Now if you'll all excuse me off back to bed can't face the world! On the plus note been a good samaritan after a car went off the A63 today and phoned the police to help as I couldn't stop! Good deed done for the day I think!0 -
Well my meeting in Sevenoaks tomorrow is cancelled, so that's decided then I shall be staying at home in the warm and not going to spend £5 at WI. I might get the sewing machine out though and make something with the lovely fabric I bought ages ago. That lovely CK stuff I mentioned took ages to arriveDiary: Getting back on track for 2013 and beyondDEBT FREE 13-10-13 :dance::dance::dance::dance:

OMG!!  someone up there really doesnt like me! Went to pick DD up from nursery and she pipes up 'can we pick Jake up from school?' hes doing after school club so I think, why not, so we swing round to the school and as we are sat outside I knock the car off but the radio is still playing. Roll on 3 minutes 'mum I really need a wee!!' we do the whole 'are you desperate or can you hold it?' convo and decide no shes bursting so press the button to start the car and its completely dead. Take the key out, pop it back, still no joy, now this is the end of my mechanical knowledge.
So lock the car and take her into the school, where I realise I havent got my mobile and they very kindly let me use the phone. Ring my dad (only number I can rememebr), hes doesnt answer as hes in the shower. Jake comes out of club, takes my keys and runs all the way home and back to get my mobile so I can ring DH. 'go try it again while im on the phone so I can hear it' says he. So drag my ar*e back to the car and realise that the central locking now doesnt work either  DH says battery is dead and we have to wait for my mum to get back from work to take us home!
Dad then turns up in van and we try to use the mini key inside the key fob for emergencies to unlock the passenger door, what we dont realise is the hole in the bottom of the passenger door handle is not infact the key hole but a little gap to pull the cap off thats covering the key hole!
Dad goes home, ring DH again who explains why we couldnt unlock the car, ring dad who comes back while mum looks after kids back at mine having got home, and the 2 of us, who happen to have as much mechanical knowledge as a tea strainer, try to jump start my car. Firstly, the man who assures me he has jump started many cars in his 65 years, is unsure which way round the jump leads go  and the fact that when we put them on one way the lights lit up in my car and when put on the other way sent massive sparks flying from dads van battery, did not help us figure out which way they needed to go
Needless to say the car is still outside the school, and lily and I are housebound until DH gets home and can go and get a new battery and fix itSPC No 002 SPC(3) £285/£250 (4) £519.84/£500 (5) £768.32/£500 (6) £911.30/£600 (7) £913.23/£600 (8) £1184.82/£750 (9) £2864.04/£750 (10) £3846.25/£1000 (11) £1779.72/£1000 (12) £1596.55/£1000 (13) £1534.70/£1000 (14) £775.60/£1000 (15) £700.20/£1000 (16) £2081.34/£1000 (17) £1691.15/£1000 (18) £225/£10000
