My first update working from the 15th November when the challenge began!

    Amazed at my total. :j

    #17 - £1117.01/£4000

In December I paid off £500 off my credit card and car loan debt and an extra £200 (which I don't include in the above total) from my mortgage. This represents about 52% of my pay which seems good considering I had to buy Christmas presents.

This is a fab thread! Please can I join also.

I am 32, have an ok-ish job I suppose, but always find myself out of pocket. I keep coming back to this site as there are so many great stories that give me such inspiration to finally get back into the black. Like another chap here, I'd like to see myself on the property ladder by 35.

My total debt stands at 7933.95 as of this moment, but then there is the MOT and the road tax which will be the only other big spends this month.it would be nice to get to Xmas 2012 with actual money that is my own in the bank.

I also want to cut down and eventually quit smoking, again, this year.

I got carried away last week and used xmas money to buy a couple of rolls of wallpaper in the Laura Ashley sale for my bedroom (or soon to be new posh boudoir). It's got butterflies on it, and there's matching fabric I might save up for to make a blind. Having seen your posts, I might just look for cheap fabric somewhere else that matches and do a blind and cushions. I also fancy making a patchwork throw!
Don't show me butterflies, I love them!

Am I being over dramatic here? am I angry about nothing?
I have a suggestion, he opens his own account for his game. Is this possible? I know you said he gets x amount each month for his game as an allowance, but it sounds like the game is becoming an obsession, like gambling in a way but not. I used to play a game like this and in the end had to cut myself off from it as I just kept pouring money into it needlessly. It might teach him to manage his money better. Separates it from the bills/debts account, and he can't have any more for it until the next wage cheque. He'll soon get off the pc and start doing something else. He should really have done those applications himself, if only to keep him away from the dratted game, but we do these things for those we love :)

Has it sunk into him how much debt you're in? Maybe try jotting it on a wall chart somewhere VERY visible right near the pc, so everytime he plays it he starts feeling guilty. Or have a list of things money has been spent on that month in a nice bar chart so he can see how much his game is really costing?

Doing well with the weekly challenge and because I'm moving it gives me even more motivation not to go grocery shopping! My 'interesting' meals so far have consisted of yorkshire puds with scampi and burgers and sweetcorn. Now I've discovered a million (ok maybe about 20) chicken thighs and legs in my freezer - any cheap and easy ideas for how to cook them? I'm a bit useless :)

Well done to everyone paying off debts and sorry about your OH jake's mum, it must be really frustrating for you :(
All I can think is stews, casseroles, hot pots, soups, you can cook the bones after you've grilled them/roasted them/etc to make stock as well :)

Just filled in for online tax registration was meant to do this ages ago as I sell and make my own jewellery but keep putting it off.

Dinner tonight was nutella on toast oops.

I'm also jealous of your sewing machines! I must get one.... although I am a teacher and made a blind for my living room in the summer holidays by going in and using one of the textiles machines. maybe I'll ask if I can bring one home over the weekend so I can make another blind for the bedroom. Hmmmmm. Lots of ideas now!

It's so good to log in here and see everyone's payments - well done!

if you do decide to buy one there are lots on ebay at the moment, I think there's quite a lot of people out there who got one for christmas and didn't want it.
