Not sure if it'll help anyone else, but I've started unsubscribing from newsletters that try to make me spend money. So it was byebye to Mr T, Harrods (only in a sale for cheap underwears), freemans, etc

  • I just spoke to Vanquis and they said i need to cancel my PPI thingy before I can cancel my card, once I can pay it off. Is this the missold PPI thing? If so can I claim it back? He seemed very keen to get me to agree to a lower rate protection thing but I was very careful not to agree to anything on the phone so I told him I wanted it cancelled as I would be cancelling the whole account shortly.

I did that for Dorothy Perkins, new look, etc – it def helps! out of sight, out of mind.....

I'd be interested in Cath Kidston bedding if you are making and then selling! Luuuuuuuuuuuuurve Cath Kidston!
  • Right- I am off to the Cath Kidston shop in Bath tomorrow beciause my bag arrived and it is huge!! like a !!!!!!!g suitcase lol. Bath was my nearest shop with the Day bag in stock in th fabric I want so I am running over there in the morning to get hopefully my dream bag.

On a more MSE note I have just rung Vanquis, and I have £51.77 left to pay. I am paying that off then cancelling the card (may try and claim the PPI first) I had credit expert membership going off that credit card at 7.99 a month (oh the irony ) so Ive just rung and cancelled that too. I definitely want to cancel the Vanquis card- I dont need it and its too tempting sat there with its £2250 limit tempting me.

I am feeling very hassled by needy friends today so I have blocked the rest of the week out to start my decluttering/ebaying/music magpie ing etc. I actually said no to a very needy friend today who was hassling me for a cuppa this week. i never say no to people then feel hassled and resentful so my New Years Resolution is to be just a little bit more "selfish"

I can't pay anymore debt off this month as feeling the pinch after Xmas now all the DD's have gone out!

But I have just set up a payment of 301.01 to go out of my account on payday to pay off that First Direct card I've been harping on about! Should I count it as a payment now or wait till payday to declare it?

I paid this off by transferring my car finance to a 0% credit card. Reduced the amount I need to pay back so £343.83 knocked off the debt without spending a penny. :D

    Good luck everyone.

need your opinions ladies and gentlemen. I have a gorgeous 9 month old daughter who has always had far too many clothes ( nearly all second hand but in great nick ) Ive been keeping them all as we plan on having another when she's three or four in case we have another girl but my mum says better to sell them now as they'll be out of fashion when we have our next. What do you think ?
