I can't think of the prices now, but yes considering they are donated and meant to help people with not much money, the stuff is way overpriced.

One of my aims was to be under 1k before the end of this month, so I bit the bullet today. My dd paid me some money she has borrowed last week and I thought that if she could pay me back on her low wage, leaving herself with very little spending money, then I could well make an effort as well and pay off the extra £150 which would mean that a. I had paid £500 this month and b. my balance would be under 1k.

Every penny counts guys.
Well done January, Shrekkie & Green saints.
Shrekkie you are doing great if you wanted to clear by Christmas you would only need to pay off £769.17 every month. You have already overpaid that by £147.67.
Well done. Think of the extra interest you have saved!0 -

Even if it's just to tide you over til you can save money for new ones!
Absolutely! When I moved I had quite a bit of stuff from Freecycle. My settee was about the best haul. Absolutely lovely 3 seater settee, nothing wrong with it, she was just having a new 3piece and wanted rid of it. The colour didn't really go so I got a ridiculously cheap huge throw and a couple of cushions from Dune1m in the sale and hey presto. Still have it now 2 years on. The only thing with freecycle is people tend to want big stuff shifting fairly quickly or on a specific day/time as they've got new things coming to replace them. If you can get access to a van or trailer you're well away. Some people might even offer to deliver it to you.
I also posted a note on my faceb00k asking if anyone local-ish was chucking any furniture out or getting rid of an old working telly or anything to let me know and I'd buy it off them. One friend promptly actually brought to me a big freeview telly on a stand as they were about to downsize and a nice Ike@ coffee table and flatly refused to take any money as they were only going to the tip otherwise.
Bad news about your car Kat0 -
Ruth any news on the cat?
Thank you so much for all the well wishes. Cat is still hanging on in there (well he was this morning) After I logged off here I checked on him & found him trying to sort of hide in confined spaces, which is not a good sign, but I picked him up & put him back in his comfy bed & he purred a bit, so in the end I left him there all curled up.
This morning I was so nervous as to what I would find, but he is still curled up in the exact same position, barely breathing, food not touched. I stroked him & he purred again so I'm presuming he's not in any pain or distress.
I've had to come out to work until 4, so I will see how he is when I get back. My friend is coming round at 5 so she will stay with me for a bit.
I know 19 is a great age, and I want him to slip away quietly, if its his time to go. He hates travelling, so I really do not want to put him through the stress of a visit to the vet. But if he continues not eating/drinking, then I will have to call a vet out I suppose

Ruth, glad and sad at the same time.
Well very grateful I have some form of self restraint. Just found out the cash expenses I gave to my boss last week he is only just looking at so moved the chance of getting them to next month after payday! Hence less money in bank then I thought!
Very bad day at work and feeling very low. So think I'm going to spoil myself and get on a sun bed to cheer myself up as I know a bit of sun will cheer me up! May sound barking but at a couple of £ if it gets me to shake some of this exhausted feeling it'll be worth it for one session! Please note I have no intention of turning into a sun bed user. Just mentally/ physically drained and I know I don't do this one thing for me there is a good chance I'll fall off the rails very soon!0 -

No worries, I've been in your position. Only wish I could help more. It may just be useful to get some reassurance and advice before it gets too late again and you end up faced with out of hours. I've spent my life just wishing my pets could tell me what was the matter when they were illx

Hi
I'm really confused by the percentages on page 1 and total debt! Have used my calculator but can't work it out! Can anyone advise me what the figures represent?
Thanks!0 -
Oompa it should be the amount paid off your total debt so far.
Do you have your figures to hand to recheck them?0
