Oh forgot to say, did the gal@ bingo through TCB for my mum today and won her £30 by doing the scratchies plus her £22.72 cashback so she was really pleased. My dad is unable to work at the min due to an injury that needs keyhole surgery and hes self employed so no real help for them moneywise :( so she was very pleased with her free money :)

I would love to .. although I'm not sure I will be debtfree by xmas 2012 I'm giving it my best shot ... I just love reading the banter and getting all the helpful hints and tips. I have a debt of £7857.82 that I am currently tackling - it has been hard going as I am supporting my husband who has no clue of what its like in the real world (ex-military - although this is probably just him as he didt have to worry about bills and money as it came out of his pay and everything that was left was his to spend plus miliatary discounts on cars coupled with credit cards and loans on mimimum payment for the last goodness knows how many years - whew that turned into a bit of a rant - thought i's got that out of my system months ago lol!) so this place and you are all my lifeline :A

:j:j:j Yay!!! Good to have you on the team! My ex was military so I know exactly what you mean... Even if you clear half of your debt by Xmas then that is a fantastic result. Have you got any ideas for how you're going to clear your debt? Ebay? Surveys? etc...? Don't worry, you are not on your own here, you are part of the DFBX12 team :A

  • awww thanks for the encouragement :) mostly my savings have been from drastically cutting down on grocey spends, making lunches, going through every bill and getting the best quote/price for everything, cutting down on going out and just saving every penny really. I started well before xmas and saved and set a budget and managed not to go over budget so it has all helped. I think that the next thing will be to try e-bay and/or gumtree but am working myself up to spending the time listing things as I work full time and long hours and am trying to fit in gym, horses and studying and managing the shopping, bills and budgetting and organising lunches and tea!! lol there I go off again!!!

Talking of banter... my OH is now sulking because I decided I was going to watch a 2nd episode of Secret Diary of a C@ll Girl (they're 15mins long!) should I wake him up or leave him to sulk?
