Whoa!!! Spreadsheet looks way too complicated! I just have everything on one sheet so when I open it I know exactly what the state of play is.

It really isn't :) But different things work for different people so stick with what works for you :)

Afternoon all! I hope everyone is well, and apologies for being AWOL for so long. Congrats to everyone who has paid off more debt in the last week :T. I have not been very good at debt-busting, but I also haven't overspent either. Been mad busy trying to get all my work done, and I'm really annoyed because my company expect me to work extra hours, but won't pay over time:mad:. So I'm having an extra day off tomorrow. I'd much prefer the cash, but if they won't pay I will be spending the day surveying, comping and applying for new jobs.

Outside of debt busting, I went to the Da Vinci exhibition at the National Gallery yesterday - it was AMAZING. I queued from 6.30 in the morning, the ticket office opened at 10, then it still took til 11.20 to get to the front! Well worth it tho, and I met a really nice lady in the queue, who works at the Hard Rock Cafe and has offered to get me on the guest list if I want a table on one Saturday night :j. It's really expensive tho, so will have to wait until I've saved up, or at least until after I get paid.

I know it won't be to everyone's liking. It's pretty simple once you've entered your one starting figure on each debt sheet everything is pretty much set up to auto update and filter through to the summary which is my at a glance bit. I've got money owing to 7 different places so it was easier for me to split them all up. The only thing you have to enter is your payments after it's set up :)

I thought I'd better put instructions in case people either inadvertently deleted bits of formula and sent it all wonky, which I've done myself using other peoples spreadsheets, or entered a fig in the wrong cell and wondered why nothing was updating. Trying to work out what's gone wrong on something someone else has created is horrendous. If it's useful to just one other person I'm happy.

£19.50 for an adult, including audioguide. It was good cos they didn't hurry you around at all, so you could look at each drawing and painting for as long as you wanted.

Thanks for the msgs-they hv really cheered me up. Well DHs cranium remains intact...mebbe I should show my anger more-while I was out last night he kept msging me abt how much he loved and missed me; he said he had spent the money on us and that it wld never happen again. Maybe he has finally had hisLBM ? :idea:I know that he doesn't like that the kids no longer look at him as if he is a superhero...they still love him to bits, but recent events have really opened their eyes...
I couldn't find any shoes to fit last night. I hv large feet and the rest of me is large too! However I did have a v nice curry- the first decent one I had since leaving England-I really enjoyed the naan bread. As it was in a Food Court in a mall, it was cheap too! Nom nom! I also bought a few little bits using a Xmas gc :j
I arrived home and instantly melted and couldn't stay mad as I stepped into a WARM house! Yes-we got the boiler replaced two days ago by a friend of a friend who agreed to take 3 post dated cheques! The children and I love it!!!
This morning the kids got a shock when I said we were going to bus it to school cos I had a bookful of bus tickets in a drawer and no petrol in the car. There was lots of wailing about how cold and dark it was, until I explained that we ALL had to do our part to save up for a holiday back home next year. As soon as I mentioned the magic word 'England' they got ready without a squeak!
Thanks KERRI for letting me cry on your shoulder last night-I was in a right state. Well done on paying off Freemans!!! I hvnt even tried a repayment or 0% cc as we dont have any money going into a UK bank account.JAKES-MUM, how did u get so wise at such a young age? I am in my forties and it has only just occurred to me that I must take over the family finances if our children are to hv a future...how foolish do I feel for trusting him for so long? I just work such long hours and hv taken my eye off the ball as to where the money went...EDDI, thx for the good wishes x KERFUFFFLE, I sent DH to the bank to deposit the kids' Christmas money into their accounts b4 it all got spent. He did not enquire about a line of credit - too embarrassed. I am not having anything to do with the Uk cc but I'll continue to pay off the Canadian one. Even in a few weeks I can notice an improvement in our - ok HIS - spending habits which is a good thing! FRITTER-I totally agree with you ... I will never EVER be this broke again! JEMMA have I thanked u this week for this forum.. It's been a lifesaver for me.

Hi Canucksfan! I have been in your situation too, My bf was terrible with money it got to a stage where I was paying his bank fees AND putting money in his account to pay the bills, he would then take out the money all over again!! It got to a point when I said I couldn't carry on like this and he volunteered his cards for me to sort out! Once Im clear of all this debt I will most probably set an allowance each in separate bank accounts and keep all bills and savings aside. He is terrible with money, but is being really good so far helping me with budgeting and getting bargains:) I hope you get things sorted out with your oh soon.

Hi everyone else! Oh my this has been a long month waiting for my pay! Getting really impatient with no updates on my totals, I think Ill stay up until midnight to check my pay going in. Im going to put my car up for sale tomorrow, hopefully it sells soon!
  • Thanks for that-I am going to start putting myself first from now on. My mother always tells me not to be a doormat. Having a quiet day after all the fireworks yesterday. The youngest is watching Dora on TV and I am going out to scoop up the contents of the bin that our dog has wrecked outside. All our friends at home think we are living the life of Riley here, skiing in the morning, chasing the moose away in the afternoon and counting our gold ingots from our million dollar jobs in the evening...oh if they cld just see me scooping up all the old Pedigree Chum cans now- ha ha!
