Seconded! :TNooo not yet, we celebrate on Wednesday when the balance clears onto Vanquis so I can pay Freemans and not incur interest on my c/c. I know it's the backwards way of using Peter to pay Paul, but it saves me £25 in interest each monthand soon I can pay the full amount off the card. Doing it this way has saved me about £75 in interest
Ah ok, my:dance: :j HOORAY :j :dance:0 -
I've made some changes to the summary sheet of my spreadsheet following a couple of suggestions to make the monthly target totals update as you pay things off . I think it all works.

Woohoo, it's payday! I've never looked forward to it so much!
I've taken the plunge and paid 1/12th of my total debt in order to try to clear it by Xmas, so my new totals are:
#281: £1103.29/£7,735.45
I've now got a paltry sum to live on for the rest of the month, but this way it should stop me spending as I won't have cash in the account. If I get totally desperate I can use my spending credit card and adjust what I pay next month accordingly.
Now I have to start moneysaving, mealplanning etc!Debt Free by Xmas 2012 member #281: £6,627.08/£7,735.45 (85.67%)0 -
Well done Catmort!
Scary but satisfying! xxxLife is too short not to love what you do.0 -
Just got incredibly excited as it's payday, which means I can order the kinder for the OH from The Rainforest
I input all my rainforest vouchers I've earnt from mysurvey, SB, TCB and although I've spent the £31 I got from GTM because I was skinty mcflint, I still had just over £51 in vouchers
(I do have £7.50 in vouchers owing but I want to buy him it now so he can have it before Canada). He wants the keyboard one which is £149, but they had one in stock that's refurbed for £79.99 so I paid a grand total of £28.48 a mahoosive saving of £121.51
I feel very, very MSE. Normally I would have just bought this before xmas without thinking of the cost, thanks to Jemma I played the long game, and I've won

Canucksfan wrote: »Hi All, just need to vent b4 I do something drastic. I have taken over the Payment of credit cards (husbands and mine) since start of yr. so he gave me permission to open his cc bills which arrived today..needless 2 say it isn't good. His Canadian cc has gone past it's credit limit by a lot. The interest alone is over $100 this month. The $400 that I had put into his account is nowhere near the minimum payment that they want. Then I open another cc bill thinking it is a flyer from the same bank, but no- it is his English cc...the one he said he had just a few quid, practically nothing, just to keep the account open. So why do I see £2377.46 in the total which includes £12 for late payment last month?
I am at a loss to understand this man. I am sick of moaning about him. I cannot afford to keep supporting his spendy ways. The one good thing is that there are no new purchases on either card this month. If I ask him he will just shrug and say well I don't know howit happened. Are there any guys on tonight who can shed some light on how a mans brain works as I hv failed...badly.:(
<<hugs>> to Canucksfan, (and anybody else who needs them),
I'm not sure if you were just venting or if you're asking for advice, but if this was me I would firstly hit him over the back of the head with the frying pan, and then I would address the money :rotfl:
I mentioned a Personal Line of Credit a while back, and as far as I've seen this is the cheaper option for borrowing in Canada. I've never seen a 0% interest credit card advertised so I don't think that this is an option.
So get a PLOF to cover your Canadian CC, your UK CC and your new boiler. Send enough money to the UK to pay off the UK CC, and pay off your Canadian CC.
You said before Christmas that hubby had gone OTT with last minute pressies that were paid for on the debit card, those could so easily have gone of the CC, and I think he probably put the purchases on the debit card because he knew he'd maxed his CC. Until he has his light-bulb moment, you're really going to struggle.
I'll leave it there, I keep putting something and then deleting it cos I don't want to over-step the mark, I don't know your hubby so I don't know how receptive he is to suggestions, but you're' going to have to talk to him. Good Luck!
And I hope you're enjoying your new shoes0 -
