Does anyone know if you can cancel car insurance early and get money back. car insurance is up in June and we pay yearly but quidco doing a really good cashback offer and the quote is good but wont still be there in june so i thought if we could canx and get refund of moneyfrom now til june and set up new insurance now but dont know if thats possible ?

Yes, I've had to cancel car insurance before but had to pay and admin fee and a cancelation fee about £50 I think so you'll need to factor this in to see if it's a good deal from quidco xxx

Do you have to have Microsoft office to use the spreadsheets? x

Hi tryinghard, sorry for the late reply. No you shouldn't have to have Office. If you go into File and to "download as" it gives you the option to download as an Open Office file. I don't have MS Office on my Netbook, just Open Office and it's just opened fine and seems to work ok. Otherwise, have you got a Google account? If not you could register for a free account and use Google docs on the net

To clauclate intrest start with amount in column A then apr in column B (I struggled with % so pop in a figure) then add the following into excel

    =A*B%/12

This should give interest over a one year period then divided by 12 months

I never even thought about factoring in interest, hmmm

Just one question Eddi :) I've just put in my figures for PPI cheques... but the monthly repayments to be debt-free by Xmas didn't change? Is there any way to get it to update automatically or would I need to change my original starting figures on each sheet? Thanks :D

:jYeah I managed another payment today, I have been getting withdrawl symptoms with not being able to post any payments.:j

    #259 £1027.83/£12,477.37

I also managed another few payments to clear a few bills that I had forgot about and hadn't included in my original total.

    Also lost 3lb/14lb

This thread moves so fast you get lost if you miss a few days but I have caught up now.

I Can't remember who asked if holiday was a bad word, not in my house we go on holiday every year and since i started debt busting a few years ago we have budgeted for our holiday every year so we don't increase our debt to go. At the end of the day if you are working all the overtime you can get to clear off your debts you need some time out and a little bit of sunshine brings you back refreshed geared up for the second half of the year.

    Happy debt busting everyone:T
