But you're not back where you started - in reality you owed £1200 more than you thought and the great thing is that you have almost cleared that amount in the short time you've been doing the challenge - you'd have been more gutted if you hadn't paid off and you'd found it.
I know you feel disappointed at the moment but take heart you're doing fantastically and this time next year you'll be either debt free or substantially closer to it and it'll make your discovery seem unimportant.
Keep up the good work :beer:0 -
Im in a right old funk today
happy for everyone and their plans to make more money for debt but its made me realise how hard it will be for me to do the same
cant get any overtime when you dont work and ive already ebayed everything unused in the house
A lesson for all I think, dont take debt believing you can pay it off with your income as the day may come that your unable to work and your income is no more

Hi jakes-mum...
I read your post and recognised the new year blues...please don't be downhearted...I think ebaying your stuff is a great achievement - I don't even know how to use a digital camera to take photos, let alone sell on ebay!
When i'm down I read a little book of 'positive affirmations' by Louise Hay and it gives me hope. I have read the posts on this thread and feel really encouraged by your comments. You are on the path to being debt free - just believe in yourself.

You have been so inspirational in these last 6 weeks. and you have already paid off over £1200 and it's only the 2nd Jan! You are doing so well and even if you have ebayed everything for the moment I am sure their will be things the children have grown out of or not into anymore. Are you able to get to Charity Shops or car boots when they start again? Or could someone go with you and help you? You now have the skills to look out for items that will sell and be able to sell them on. What about friends or family can they have a sort out for you, maybe they have a couple of things each that they don't use anymore?
You will feel so much better when the debt has gone, ok you may pay off half this year and half next or it may take you a little longer BUT you are not increasing the debt it is going down. We all have our down days about it all and I will probably have mine tomorrow or next week, and I will be in tears thinking like you what's the point and hopefully someone will be able to help me!

Well a very successful bit of finger tapping - have made £30 from selling books/dvds on Zapper. Well can't really count the money until it arrives but will rush to the Post Office tomo with my parcel
For extra motivation I am joining in a challenge to make £5 a day in January (£10 sounds too much - baby steps needed for a while)
Jakes-Mum - you will feel brighter soon I have read yr previous posts and know you are inspiring lots of people on here :A
