Wow, I've been soooo busy today but my scrummy lunch is prepared (and put on myfitnesspal.com...!), washing up done, photoshopped another 20 shoes for my parents, went for a 30min walk (would have been longer but it was in the middle of nowhere, going dark and I was on my own), bought a new lipstick as I can't scrape anymore out of my old one, put fuel in my car, grabbed some bits from tesco for the week...

I've now caught up and am just updating all your totals and our lovely new members!

Cannot believe it's back to work tomorrow... Don't feel like I've had a holiday and it's straight into Month End. Oh the joys! Oh well, it's paying my debt off...

Can I add I had my first NSD of the year today! I was going to go to Westfield today to look around the sales, but I thought I'm only going to be tempted to spend money I don't have on things I don't need so I stayed at home instead!
  • Hi all, been following the old thread for a while and I want to come & join the party!! I don't know my exact total at the mo - been with a DMP for just over a year but need to add the interest I'm still being charged. Approximate figures are:

    HSBC OD - £300
    HSBC CC - £1000
    Barclaycard - £1000
    Halifax CC - £1700
    Zopa Loan - £2500

Giving me a grand total off roughly £6500 I wanted to get my figures done tonight but my computer has decided to develop issues - really great seeing as I've only had it 4 weeks (bloody FleaBay!!)

Loving the advice on here, got some eBay/Amazoning to be getting on with. I'm up for this weeks challenge too.

Looking forward to getting started!!! :-)

Im in a right old funk today :( happy for everyone and their plans to make more money for debt but its made me realise how hard it will be for me to do the same :( cant get any overtime when you dont work and ive already ebayed everything unused in the house

A lesson for all I think, dont take debt believing you can pay it off with your income as the day may come that your unable to work and your income is no more :(

Sorry, not usually like this, think its new year blues :(
Don't be down-hearted jakes-mum, you've already done amazingly well. I'm in a similar boat to you, my OH is ill and disabled so he can't work and I'm his carer so I'm unable to work. We live on benefits so there's no chance of overtime or any extra money coming into the house and my DD finishes 6th Form this summer so any benefits we get for her will stop too as she'll no longer be classed as a dependant. :(

I would love to be able to pay off all our debts by the summer but if I can't we'll still manage and get by. The way I look at it is anything paid off is a bonus even if it's only a couple of pounds.

  • Morning everyone

well the weather here is terrible, strong winds and rain yuk! What a morning to go back to work to! don't really like my job but it took 8 months for me to find work after my contract ended so I know I am lucky to have a job but even so.......... Never mind it pays the bills and hopefully a lot of debt off.

I have sorted my cupboard and freezer out and just have to get milk, fruit and loo roll this week so should be under £15 ( there's an offer on at the co-op for loo rolls!!) if we can get everything we need for that then I can put the extra that we would have normally paid into the savings account - then at the end of the month I can pay some more debt off. That's the plan anyway!

    Have a good day x

Morning all, this is a horrible day to start back to work, we have 80mph winds and lots of bloody rain...seems like a joke from mother nature as the new year has been prety sunny so far!

I went to tesco and did my shop for this week yesterday, I spent more than I had budgeted (£25) - by 58p...but I'm not going to beat myself up as I got lots of mushrooms reduced to 10p per punnet which I will make bucket loads of soup with tonight, and was also able to get a some chicken breasets, casserole steak, and lamb pieces reduced, that I have frozen to include in next week's meal plan.

Normally I would have spent about £60 and still not known what I was going to eat through the week...so baby steps and all that!

    Happy New
Just back into work after an over- indulgent christmas! Rather than the food and beer, and not too much the money!!

Anyway, after selling my car in November and going to public transport, I had a bit of cash which I just bit the bullet and paid off my Santander Card of £1890

    So

    010 :jrjh35 £2786.76/ £15,461.76

It is now just a very long month with not much happening money wise! Patience till the end of the month!

Just a quick thanks to those that are looking after this thread...its hard enough reading it all, never mind updating the totals! And thanks to all for the great tips! Heres to a debt free 2012!!!!:T:beer:

    Morning all,

Glad you are feeling better Jakes-mum, we all have days like that. Ciao can be hard work but I used to earn about a tenner a month on it.

Glad all the bank holidays are over so that my Virgin CC online statement will update with my new balance. I am nearly under £2000 :j
