Afternoon all! Just been playing with spreadsheets, and found that if I can get all birthday presents this year for £10 each (plus any vouchers from swagbucks / shopandscan / valued opinions), rather than the previous plan of £20 I can move my debt free date forward by about 1 whole pay day :j:j:j:j:j:j! That should be an interesting challenge, but I was really impressed at myself sticking to budget over Christmas, so I'll give it a good go!

Also, still liking the mini challenge - I've had left over chilli with bread from lunch and lifted some chicken soup out of the freezer for dinner. Thanks Kerri!

Grocery shop so far is 12 eggs, 1 red onion, 3 portabello mushrooms and a rather expensive gluten/wheat free loaf of bread. Veg box arrives on thursday, but I'm not counting that just yet. Treats for myself were a recipe book in the sale for my sister, 2 bags of xmas chocs to go in for next years xmas box, and a square baking tin for £5.28. So my shopping so far is £4.39 + 24p + 88p + £3.19 :) £8.70 yay

  • Hello all :)

Dashing in to report on my shopping yesterday - I took £20 cash out, to last me the whole of Jan food shopping and spent £9.15 on some essentials. Just need my remaining £10.85 to last me until Jan 31st :D
In fairness I did have a monthly tesco delivery (usually only costs me around £150 but last week only cost £92) - but always seem to spend another £30-£40 a week on things I don't need when only supposedly going to get milk/bread etc  No more!

Also spent a whopping £3 on some new jeans for dd from Primani :D but thats from a separate fund so I'm not counting that.

Made another mini payment today so running total is #064 £332.79/£13,210.36

Just another £70 plus £12 interest til I hit my Jan target. Yay me!

    Hi All,

Please can I join this thread?

Need a bit of an incentive, I haven't got a hugh amount of debt compared to some and if I put my mind to it I should be able to clear it by end of 2012.

Total debt to clear - £4,731 on salary of £15k (need a new job lol)

    Comprising of:
    Loan - £2,431 (pay £221 monthly, ends Dec 12)
Parents Loan - £1,500 (no rush but would like to pay back)
O/D - End up in every month by £700/£800.

Am off to look at up your income to see how I can raise some extra funds!

Hey, I'm new to this forum, but can I join please?

I would like to clear my overdraft so...

Total debt to clear = £1300

It's going to be tough, especially since me and my partner are on a very low income and have a baby due in april, but I'm determined to clear my overdraft! :)

Welcome aboard, mf0u will give you a number probably tonight when she does her updating - I think we'll be the biggest thread on the forum soon :T
  • Hi all. I'd like to join please, although I don't think it's possible to pay off all my debts by Christmas 2012! I've decided to aim to pay off at least £15,000 .
It's going to take some doing but i'm feeling determined at the moment. I'm in a DMP and will be putting any extra pennies towards debts as well. This would make a very big dent in my debts which would be great. I'm keeping a spending diary and will update figures on here when I can. Only paid £200 so far but it's a start.
Good luck everyone, here's to busting those debts in 2012!!
Paid off £16,715/£16,550 by Christmas 2013
Now to pay off all remaining debts by Christmas 2014
    Total to pay #041 £7,086.97/£16,500
    Only £9,413.03 to go
