I would never have overpaid as much as I did just before Xmas without this thread and the support of the lovelies here :)

Yes, I'm only looking to pay about a quarter of our debt this year as it's so high. Well, maybe a third if I pull my finger out!

  • Well, Ebaying is going okay. The nibblers out there are bumping up my total, little by little. The first things finish on Friday, about half my items are selling right now, keep fingers crossed that some of the bigger stuff sells.

    Hi all,

I'm wondering if any of you could offer a little bit of advice please.

My OH was talked into claiming his PPI back using a company two months ago, they have looked at our mortgage and rang today and said we could get money back, after several phone calls today we have been told we have a good chance. However need to pay £550 for them to process, if nothing comes of it then we get the £550 back, however if we do they keep £150 of the £550. I could definitely do with some PPI back to pay off our debts but do I pay the £550 for the greater amount or not?

I know company's are not the best but he's a stubborn thing and won't listen to me trying to do it the way Martin would like, trust me I've tried, MEN :-0

On the plus side I took a top back today so will be paying £15 off my debts later.

:oI must confess I was reluctant to make my own PPI claim, really couldn't be bothered at the time, so Hubby put in a claim on my behalf. Maybe you could get the ball rolling for him...

edit - just read your post saying you're going to do it yourself, yay!

I am with CCCS on a payment plan and I am aiming for 50% of our debt this year and the rest next year. Not all of us are going to make it but just being able to post any payments and having the support is well worth it. So stay a little longer :p
