    Have a great evening all!
  • Hi
Creeping in with my tail between my legs :o.
I haven't been around for a couple of weeks (at least) and have been drinking every day and I don't have any obvious explaination for it. I had a couple of drinks on a day when I hadn't planned to drink (it was the SNC). Nothing has changed, I haven't experienced any unusual degree of stress or increased social occasions but having drunk a moderate amount on an evening when I wasn't going to drink I thought "sod it I've failed anyway so I might as well drink". I've been back to my old ways and have drunk at least a bottle of wine (sometimes two) each evening; it has to stop! However, I would like to go TF for February please Shaggy and see how things go. I have a mental target but I'm not revealing it.

    Hi MrsR,

Out of curiosity, what would be Mr R's normal wine intake of an evening and how many beers did he have last night?

My problem is that if I replace a bottle of wine with 2 beers, the volume consumed is the same, but after the 2nd beer is finished I'm desperate for another drink. Likewise, if I drink whisky I obviously consume less volume, but have just as many units.

He would usually have a minimum of 2 bottles of wine, each containing around 9.5 Units. TOTAL = 19 units per day

Last night he had 6 bottles of beer each containing 1.4 Units. TOTAL = 8.4 units :)

Because it's so gassy he doesn't drink as much and it's not as strong as the wine. He's not a spirit drinker. Will have the occasional Jack and Coke but wouldn't drink it in place of wine, which is a good thing. Wine is "his drink" and he just drinks it like water.

I've challenged him to go "wine free" during february and I really hope he sticks to it.

Sorry to hear that mel. I know it sounds obvious but we all have blips in the form of sod it days. You just have to treat it as a one-off and get right back to AFness the next day. For me, drinking daily is a bad habit I got into and I found that the best way to break that habit is by proving to myself I can have AF days. Good luck with your target (whatever it is;)).

    Another for me, so

2AFDs for February and 4 completed for the SNC.
