    feb target 20

only had slight bells tolling last night but didn't really give it much thought, this weeks flew by, af wise! I've also lost 4lb, need to lose another 4 by next weeks date!

caramelcaron, sometimes with women there doesn't need to be a reason, I had a week exactly like this 2 or 3 weeks ago and then the 2 weeks of xmas/new year! Starting on one bottle on a school night then drinking earlier at weekend so I could fit 2 in! anyway it was only a week and my waist and bank balance are now healthier; so don't beat yourself up just start again and good luck.

trying for an af weekend...see reason above!

have a lovely warm indoor weekend everyone!

  • Hi everyone!:) Found this thread this morning and am eager to join in, although suffering a bit from newbie nerves as not sure what all the abbs mean yet ... do I choose a number of days I want to stay AF during Feb?

    20 AF in Feb

    Like that, right?!

Bearacus,, could you please advise on joinig the SNC, does it roll round every week?

Basically, I turn 40 next week and if I don't make changes now I never will. I've stepped up my diet, lots of whole foods, and am feeling much better for it (I'm a stay at home mother of three yr old twins and have gained a stone easily in the last year with toddler leftovers and too much processed, quick food). My problem is with the booze ... bottle of white wine a night easy; I just want this under control and I realise I am not going to do it alone (have probably spent about fifteen years trying!) I really want to commit to a thread, and I am hoping you'll have me!

    Thanks so much, all! M

Thats exactly how it is for me. I'm much better having completely AF days. If I can get down to drinking one day a week I will be happy.

It's strange you should say that MissP. I was thinking about how pathetic my 14 looked against some of the fantastic (:T:A) totals people had acheived in January. Then I thought that lots of my 'drinking' nights I only had a single glass and absolutely no nights where I felt hungover as a result. Maybe I've arrived!!!:D

Ok, own up. Who's stolen MrR and put this non-wine drinking person in his place :D

So pleased for you both mrsr. I'm sure you're giving him loads of praise and encouragement and you must have saved loads already!!

It's a glorious day here, a pity it's so damn cold!!!!!!

Welcome molly, you'll be so glad you found this lovely thread. As you've gone for a target of 20 in February (Shaggy will add you to the list) then you must be a cutter-down rather than a giver-up. The SNC (School Night Challenge) runs alongside as extra motivation on a weekly basis. Bearacus will tell you more but the usual is Mon to Thurs although special deals of 1 to 5 nights may be arranged for good customers!;)

When are you planning to start?

Thanks MrsR. That's interesting as it's a bottle of wine a night for me - or six beers I suppose. I think I'd struggle with just three beers though. It's almost easier to just not drink at all than to reduce my alcohol intake.

This was my problem too - I have found it easier just to stop - not easy but easier :D

Certainly sounds like you've arrived maman.

V cold here too, although sunny. Have made buttercup squash soup and risotto this morning so will be well insulated inside - still need to take pup for his long walk though!

  • Thanks Maman! I guess I am cutter-down ... More than anything I want to be hangover free and stop drinking to get drunk when alone. The idea of being out with hubby, for example, and NOT having a glass of wine scares me right now, you know? I LOVE the idea of being alcohol free completely so I'm aiming to start slowly and see where I land. That said, I plan to have a cut down Fri and Sat this weekend and start working towards my 20 in Feb on Sunday.

    :)

    Afternoon all

Maman - NEVER think your figure is pathetic!! Your personal aim was to cut down your volume of drinking, and thats exactly what you've done! :TYou've got to a place I would dearly love to be in, but fear I never will be! I'm very envious and very impressed. So THERE! :p

Molly - welcome to the thread and good luck with your target for Feb!!

Bearacus - Hows the toothache now? Did the dentist sort you out?

  • hello everyone!

I've managed 2 AF days so far!

my danger days are when i'm out at cadets, DH drinks when I'm not here so i come home to him tipsy and waiting with a "do you want a booze?". resisted last night as Ive ended up coming down with something and i want my body to shift this rather than deal with alcohol.

DH has got a friend staying over tonight and tomorrow. glitter berry j2o was on offer so I've got 8 of them on standby. also got my delivery of the posh new honey jd that i discovered in summer in america. its gorgeous but its sweet so you cant drink too much of it. I'm planning on having one of those then switching to glitter berry tonight. were out saturday so ill prob have one mojito then try and stop.
