What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.0

Morning all!
Wasn't AF last night, which was fine as i had planned it that way, but only had half a bottle of wine instead of the full bottle, so i am pleased that as well as drinking less often i am also drinking a less amount!
Have a great Saturday everyone!0 -
Morning everyone
Only 1 AF to report for Feb please Shaggy. annoyed at myself as after a horrendous day at work on Wed i quickly opened a bottle of wine, but i did stop after a large glass. Last night again, i returned to finish the bottle, didnt have the energy to fight off the bells. So as per, i had a rubbish sleep, was wide awake at 6! grrr. However ive made good use of the time, planned weekly menu and have been out to the supermarket and bought weekly shop
Have a nice day everyone, im planning an afternoon of baking and then watching the rugby at 5pm, purely out of an interest in the game and not to watch all those hunky rugby playersIt’s not what you have in your life but who you have in your life that counts0 -

That's a really good sign cleggie. We talked last week about finding the 'stop button' and you are certainly using yours. I was only thinking last night (when I moved from wine to tea mid evening) that it's taken me two years to get to the point where I didn't go mad at weekends because I could. Well done you:T (and all of you working on AFness).
Thanks for kind comments. I'm a real sucker for praise.:o

About stop buttons.
It's great that so many on here have found their stop button. i.e they can have one or two drinks and then stop.
WBF mentioned she was glad that this place exsisted and is aiming to get there. Maybe that place will be different for you, maybe the same. Who knows?
Can I just offer a word of caution. For some the only stop button that will work is for you is to stop completely. Please don't try to compare eggs with ham. It will just end in frustration and disapointment.
I tried to find my stop button and I have. I stopped completely, after many diffferenr permatations of 'rules' i set myself. For me, and I stress that, for me, stopping completely works for me.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. Thanks for that very insightful post 365.
One thing that this thread has taught me is that there are lots of different attitudes/relationships with alcohol and, as such, lots of different ways of dealing with it. I'm confident that I'm in the 'bad habit that went with a lifestyle' camp but others seem to have more of an addiction. It's really difficult to choose the right words but I do believe each is different. I think it's as wrong to suggest everyone who drinks too much is an alcoholic as it is to suggest that anyone can stop after a couple. I think an analogy may be to compare being a bit grumpy and miserable with being clinically depressed (and all places between).
Have a good day all, and keep warm!!!0
