Right - as stated in a long ago post, my aim this month (which is a bit different to the others on here but personal to me) was to drink less than a bottle of wine on the 2 weekends we have guests.
This weekend is my Mum staying - which in itself would be stressful given she has not really forgiven me for getting married last year as she wasn't there for the actual ceremony. The words "dreadfully disappointed" are bound to pass her lips and that slight disapproving sniff will be heard during this weekend. This usually culminates in my drinking many many bottles of wine. Not good
Goodness that sounds so sad reading it back - not only does she need to get a grip, clearly so do I!
So - here is the plan:
Clean house and make sure the odd jobs are sorted and finished including ironing tonight NO BOOZE
Gym tomorrow am first thing for combat (reducing stress before the event) followed by shower and arrival of Mum
Lunch prepare and serve
Take dog for walk in woods (means driving to woods, not so MSE but no excuse for drinking with lunch!)
Afternoon tea with HM cake (but need to tell DH this is the plan so he can cook the requisite cake)
Nice dinner in (this is where it could all go wrong) and ONLY a bottle of wine maximum - keep thinking about Sunday lunch below.
Sunday light breakfast and dog walk
Sunday lunch is booked out so have to drive and therefore no drinking allowed. Have booked a lovely restaurant which I know will be fantastic food so want to enjoy this fully and best not done with hangover.
Mum to leave Sunday pm sometime - will then attempt not to drown sorrows or quash anger upon departure. Plus is Sunday so rules state can't drink
Clean up house from visit, strip bed towels etc and plan washing accordingly again to avoid bending of rules.
So we shall see if this works. Best of luck with the weekend to you all!Start info Dec11

Hello all!! I am still alive and still cut right down on the old alkyhol!!
THis week I have had 4 glasses of wine and my halo is glowing!
We dont tend to buy wine as a habit anymore, the SNC is less and less of a challenge and Ive managed a couple of Frdays AF! I went to a party last friday and was VERY sober compared to manyI havent managed the SNC this week but Ive been sulking because we found a lovely house to buy and then realised we couldnt actually afford it so I had a couple of glasses to drown my sorrows BUT I kept forgetting to drink it because Im so not used to having a glass by my side!!
I hope everyone is doing ok and I will go back and have a look now as Im too s=cold to go and cook tea yet lolHave nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful or believe to be beautiful.

Molly72- Welcome to the thread  . The SNC runs every week Monday to Thursday and you can pledge 4 nights down to 1 night special. As Maman said I am also happy to do 5 nights for anyone. It s a challenge that helped me so much when Pen used to run it. Its a challenge to help people cut down in the week/ manage how many units they are drinking and any other reason people have
. There is no pressure and noonne FAILS .... ever !! As there is always another Monday to jump back on
HTH and good luck with your AF journey x
Maman- Your total is not pathetic at all xxx Your cutting down is an amazing achievement and shows how controlled you are with alcohol:T I have been helped by you and so many others over the last couple of years x so thank you your an angel :A

Well it looks as though everyone is out this Friday night, or at least has better things to do than come on here :rotfl:
3 AFD Shaggy please
I dreamed someone gave me a can of lager last night - I poured most of it into a glass and took a swig then immediately started thinking where I was going to get another one from........ until I remembered I wasn't supposed to be drinking at all and gave the glass and can to someone else! See, even in my dreams this site is working on me :rotfl:
Hope you all wake up happy and well. Night, night..:)"Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass...it's about learning how to dance in the rain." ~ Vivian Greene0 -
Morning :hello:
I was really tempted to go out with OH and some friends to the pub last night but I didn't because of my diet. A little bit of me was thinking - just go you're are missing out on all the fun - but I didn't, so was AF. Got my reward this morning as I'd lost another Llb making 3!:)

Wot she said too! You are proof that the place I want to get to exists. You are so good at saying the right things on here these days and from your early days you've come soooo far. I too am very envious and impressed!! :T
Funny how different things come out from how we filter the numbers. Maman, this morning I was looking at your numbers and mine. (Your 12/10 vs my 12/13) I was feeling disappointed to have missed my target by 1 and wishing I had your 12 instead of mine as you must be pleased to have exceeded your target whereas I tend to falter nearing the last hurdle and feel disappointed.
Aren't thoughts complicated sometimes! It's not the same 12 but it is...
I had wine last night and have woken up early as a result. Not hungover, but not bright-eyed and bushy-tailed either. It's funny how all week I wanted nothing more than a chance to sleep in late and now the weekend is here I only slept 9 minutes past the alarm time.
Hope you're all still snoozing contendedly out there.0
