    Morning all.
Thanks so much for the support.

I think that it might be best if i go TF for now

    Hi Cleggie

I'm nearly as new as you are on here - I stopped lurking and started posting in Nov. The first month was great and I found the targets really helpful and got a buzz from the challenges but in Dec I very quickly "failed". I just couldn't get going again and as soon as I'd lost hope of hitting my target (16/31) I just went for it and pretty well drank everyday - a kind of sod it mentality set in

Anyway - I'm trying a different tactic this month - TF - and so far so good. I'm enjoying keeping the tally with the rest of you guys but not feeling like a failure on the days I do have a drink which has only been 2 days so far this month :j:j:j

I think it's the bad girl at the back of the class that comes out with targets - tell me I can't do something and I'm straight in there :D

    Morning :hello:

Went to the pub after work yesterday - the bells clanged but I thought "No - I want to complete the SNC!"
    Shaggyx

I think that's the thing about the thread. You feel you've made a commitment and also want to acheive. I also think the fact that everyone is so kind and supportive makes it harder than being told off!:)

I think the flexibility is great because while we can share tips that help us we're all different. For some it's TF, some aim very high. Personally I go for a low target and work on a 'meet it and beat it' approach. As a cutter-down I'd be happy to do the SNC every week and drink sensibly at weekends.

Have good day all. It's Friday!!:j

    Morning everyone
Its so nice to have time to read through all posts properly and not skim read them.

WBFree ~ i share your 'secret goal' too, thats why my target for this month is 16, ,my aim is also to have more AF days that not throughout the year, well done on getting so far:T
Shaggy ~ well done on resisting those pesky bells :A
Rachelww1 ~ well done on reaching goal, thats so amazing :jIve done what you did last night in reporting someone to the Police who had been drinking and was going to drive. I dont regret it for 1 min, and would do it again if need be. I just couldnt have it on my conscience if he had injured someone else.
Cleggie ~ glad you still with us:)

In preparation of having friends round this eve i did a tally of the amount of wine we have, we have 5 bottles of fizz, 3 red, 6 white and 4 rose. I know this sounds weird, but the more im AF the more i want to purchase wine. I think the reason is 2 fold. 1 is to prove to myself that i can be AF and still have temptation around me and 'not cave in' and secondly i always liked the idea of having a full wine rack, full of actual wine and not random half empty bottles of juice, soda, gathering dust :rotfl:
It’s not what you have in your life but who you have in your life that counts
  • Hi all *waves* another AFD for little old me :)
AND I had a kebab last night LOL. At one point I looked at DH and he was drinking something dark and suspiciously wine looking in a wine glass- I was like a dog thats seen a bone- my ears pricked up, I was like "WHAT ARE YOU DRINKING" whilst drooling and he said "coke" and I said "Oh, ok then" and carried on happily with MY diet coke LOL. If he had been drinking I would have wanted to drink. But I realise knoiw that thats PURELY because I cant BEAR to be left out of anything. Middle child syndrome hahahah

Rachel Congrats on Your TARGET - I am to hit mine this year (1stone 9lbs to go) although I did just have cake for breakfast which wont be helping (oh and kebabs)
Cleggie- fab to see you *hugs*
Gardenanna- I am also loving being target free- the rebel in me doesnt cope well with targets HAHAHA

Well done on the gym :D, it's a great incentive not to drink isn't it! How are your arms and legs feeling?

Well I am going to declare another AF day, I have to pick up DD from work at 11, making 7 AFD :D please Shaggy.
I am feeling better after my bilp on Monday, except I am sooo tired, and have big black circles under my eyes, but I think I'm sleeping O.K.
Anyway have a quiet weekend planned, its a friends birthday tomorrow so may have a glass of wine but will try and be sensible and not go overboard!

Off to have a proper read of the thread,

    Take care,

    Mari xx
