    Hi Everyone

Thanks for the link Shaggy, i love it, never seen anything like it before

Wasnt a planned AF Fri night as we had friends round for dinner. Im looking for a bit of advice guys. As many of you who 'know me' im just looking to cut down my drinking which i have achieved over the last 12 months. My plan for this year is to cut down on the volume of alcohol i consume, when i do have a planned drinking eve.
I tried this last night, which i managed BUT i really struggled with being the 'more sober' one and found the level of noise, and people talking over each other, the topic of conversation really annoying me to the point when i started to get bored and wanted them all to leave. When faced with this how do you manage being the sober/more sober one? I wonder if i will become more tolerable over time.
Not planning to drink this eve, chinese and film tonight.
hope you all have a nice weekend x

Tricky one isn't it. I tend to avoid events where people drink a lot, not because I wam tempted to drink, but because I find drunk people a pain in the !!!! now i'm sober. I tend to meet my friends (who still drink) in non drinking situations, coffee, cinema and a meal, walk and talk, etc I find I have much better relationships with these people now than ever before. As a cutter downer I guess your choice is either do kind of the above, drink to keep up with them, or put up with the drunkness. Just re read what you wrote and saw it was a dinner party at your house. It may be that certain friends you will see in a different light when you are sober and full on !!!!heads may no longer be welcome in your house. Life's too short to have people (or people behaving in a way you don't like )in your home on a Friday night who you would rather not have there!

Rachel- Well done on your weight loss :T

PeterbunnyWell done x Fantasic achievements :T

Thankyou to Bigdrinker and Crazymum :D

Mackeroo- I think it does become more tolerable over time and it was probably doubly difficult as they were in your home (so you can't leave :rotfl:).
I try to avoid situations were people are legless as your on different levels completely. But I do enjoy seeing friends and family and I find they tend to drink less and we laugh more :D now when we go out. You have done fantastic this year :T Good luck with your goals x

declaring early so 14AF please Shaggy

Hope everyone is having a good weekend :)

    *Gien creeps back into thread*

Having a disasterous month here - I think I've had just three totally AF days which is poor. I just can't get out of the habit of having a glass whilst making dinner - not that I drink a lot but still...
I shall aim for the SNC next week and try hard to distract myself at wine o'clock - any good ideas on how to get through the tea time bells?
    Trying to keep in budget.

    Hello all!

Another one creeping back in! I have been AF since the last time I was on here. Christmas was really hard but I got through by the skin of my teeth.

Then January hit me....Mum has been ever so poorly with flu. At one point we thought she may be hopsitalised. She's still rough but slowly improving. But also a friend of mine and hubby's died last week of a heart attack. He was 41 (his 42nd birthday is today :() and it really hit us for six. And now I've just heard my Nans sister has died this afternoon. She was 96 so had a fab life but its hit me hard as I used to love seeing her when I was younger. My beloved Nan is devasted.:( So this month has seen me drinking again. I'm trying to keep it under control but am struggling. And thought of you lot!

Not sure who's still around. Am sure theres lots of new people??

    Miss P
