didn't manage to stay AF last night but had just the one drink, the remnants of a bottle of rose that had been glaring at me everytime I opened the fridge this last week.
Pleased because that one drink could so easily have turned into two or three and sore head today.
aiming to stay AF tonight. 5 nights please Bearacus for SNC :j0 -

-
Evening all
Not AF here today - just finished off the bottle from last night (one glass) with dinner.
Bearacus - please could you put me down for the school night challenge? Thank you!
Spent today playing with Piglet (I'm soooo bad at junior monopoly!!:rotfl:) and also visted my Nan. She's holding up well. Had a long talk with her - talking about my Auntie and things she got up to when she was younger. Was lovely
Looking forward to an AF week.

Not technically AF tonight - OH opened a bottle of red to have with dinner (rack of lamb, roasties, spinach, cauli and sprouts from t'allotment if you're interested!) and I thought I'd join him but I had one sip and it was 'orrible so I poured it away. It wasn't bad wine and he's happily polishing the bottle off but I just didn't like it :j:j:j0

Nice to see you back Miss P
Lots of great AFness being racked up. That's a great achievement.
I certainly was unable to stop drinking by myself (well I could stop, but not stay stopped).
I thought it was my conditions that drove me to drink, but I now realise that I needed to change myself so that I could cope with my conditions. Not that many of them were bad, but that never stopped me having a drink.
I was unable to moderate, so it was all or nothing for me. At least that means I know my safe limit, and that's zero alcohol in my body.....however, I sometimes wish I could moderate. But I cannot. So that's that. I have a problem with alcohol I need to deal with.
Good luck everyone0 -
Evening all
I've been reading - and reading - this thread and have decided to step up and join you. I've been AF since 10th January. Deliberately didn't try at New Year, not because of parties or anything, but because NY Resolutions have always seemed to me to be a bit artificial - I went AF when I was sure it was the right thing to do.
At the moment I'm feeling confident, but a bit bored in the early evening, but I like a challenge and a bit of calling myself to account so I'm aiming for 22/31 AF in January ie all of the month except for the first 9 days when I drank every day.
Counting today, that's 6 AF so far - the longest I've been AF that I can remember for years.
Wishing me and all of you luck in whatever we attempt :T"Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass...it's about learning how to dance in the rain." ~ Vivian Greene0 -
Welcome lizzyb1812 :hello: good to have you with us, if you've been reading the thread for a while you'll already know what wonderful support and encouragement you can expect from the lovely folk here - good luck in achieving your AF goals x
Well I've waited...and waited...and not a sound from those pesky bells - I feel so relaxed and dare I even say it...happy!! I can't begin to tell you how tough I found last week...every day was such an effort, I was fed up, miserable and seriously thinking of throwing in the towel. Fingers crossed this is the start of me getting back into stride with myself.
I feel confident that I won't have a drink now so will declare today as AF putting me on 8 AFD's please shaggy.
Sending you all lots of AF vibes for the week ahead
