I didn't have an AF day yesterday, as we had our team lunch. I had ONE glass of wine. The evil voices were tempting me to open a bottle when I got home, but I resisted, yay.
What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?

    Hi All!

Just had a catch-up on the thread. Loads going on!

Welcome to all the newbies, and  to Rachelww1.

Topgirl - Thanks for mentioning the Dryathlon. I might mention it to MrR, but as the Doc has told him not to just stop I'm not sure he'll be able to do it :(

Diable, Congratulations on reaching 12 months :T and Cuppa, you are doing so well considering everything you have been through :D
Good luck with the date tonight Tracy :)

Progress is in baby steps at the moment. MrR only bought 2 bottle last night. And the bottle of red he open at 7pm lasted until we went to bed at 11.30. This is progress! I think he is a bit worried about his ECG tomorrow, and his mother made a reappearance yesterday after not hearing from her for 6 months. She even drives me to drink!

Just in case I don't get to post again before christmas I want to say a BIG THANK YOU to Shaggy for running the monthly challenge and for keeping this thread going. I may not join in the challenges but this thread is such a big help to me.

Quick post from me to say :wave:to rachel and :T to diable.

Have been poorly for the last few days but the upside is I've 4 more AF days to report! Not feeling like eating or, more importantly, drinking!;)

    12 AFDS please Shaggy.
  • Hi everyone had a christmas meal out with my old workmates last night and had 2 glasses of wine - but intend to stay AF free today and tomorrow. Will take part in the Dryathlon during January cos I normally do a bit of a detox and slim down after christmas anyway.

There was mulled wine on offer at work this afternoon, but that is so easy to resist, thus another AF day for me please, Shaggy.

    Ponderings:
Does the evil "have some wine" voice get fainter with time?
Should I pretend it's Lent all year round, as I find it much easier then - I manage to give up sweets, cake, wine, crisps for 40 days (hmm, I never lost an ounce, though!). The trouble with the Lent scenario is that Sundays aren't part of Lent (which is probably why I never lost an ounce in Lent).

Sorry to hear your poorly Maman, get well soon.
Well done to MrR, and to MrsR for enduring MIL-R's visit. I'm glad I don't have a MIL, from what Mr Satchmo tells me about how his mother behaved!

4/5. First time in far too long if I'm honest. Could murder a glass of wine before bed now. Making toast instead. Expect me on a diet thread soon :D

Hope you can do it MrsRainman! But if not, sometimes there are bigger fish to fry, sure they'll do it next year?

    Morning :santa2:
Just 1 more AFD to add. Christmas work meal tonight and away for the weekend - so I won't be around again until next week.

Just in case I don't get on MSE again before Xmas day...

What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.
