For me, and I only speak for myself, I found that it gets fainter if I continue to keep 'changing'.

I was great at stopping drinking, but could not stay stopped.

I had to change, and I needed help to do that. After ...continuing to stay changed, the desire to drink has by and large left me. .. it's my mind I had to change. I couldn't just wish my desire to drink to leave me.

Thanks GC, I guess I know I have to change and stay changed. The number of mornings I've vowed to change followed swiftly by another evening of drinking are shameful. Justifying it by saying it's "not excessive" are just tosh. I'm also aware that by saying "I guess I know..." means I haven't actually made the commitment to myself to change.:o

I'm getting better at the number of AF evenings, and if I can get past the temptation to open a bottle of wine whilst preparing dinner I'm fine.

The support on here helps, as does reporting the number of AF days each day. Another AF last night for me - I lose track of the total but think it's 16/10 now?
What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?

Thanks for the good lucks - think he will need them if I ever meet him!!

    Hi all - Merry Christmas!

Not that I am celebrating this year - saw the kids this morning, been internet shopping and watching rubbish tv!

Date update - Sundays man cancelled as well - grrrrr, would quit, but it keeps life interesting :)

Hope you are all having a lovely time

  • 21 please, Shaggy, thanks

Hope everybody is enjoying their Christmas. Mr Pricey is driving me batty, trying to 'wind me up' until I crack, then he says I am mad. Delightful. However, I am not shutting it all out with wine, as I used to do, because I cope even worse the next day with a hangover too. Roll on 7 January, when he goes away during the week again, only returning at the weekends.

    xx
